THE Public Service Commissioners have made the following appointments in the Public Service:—

Richard Lane Halke,

to be Deputy Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at Dargaville, as from the 26th day of October, 1937.

Horace Osbourne Govan,

to be District Land Registrar and Examiner of Titles for the District of Taranaki pursuant to the provisions of section 4 of the Land Transfer Act, 1915; Registrar of Deeds for the District of Taranaki pursuant to the provisions of section 6 of the Deeds Registration Act, 1908; Assistant Commissioner of Stamp Duties; Assistant Registrar of Companies; Registrar of Building Societies; Registrar of Industrial and Provident Societies; and Assistant Registrar of Incorporated Societies at New Plymouth, as from the 4th day of November, 1937.

to be District Land Registrar and Examiner of Titles for the District of Hawke’s Bay pursuant to the provisions of section 4 of the Land Transfer Act, 1915; Registrar of Deeds for the District of Hawke’s Bay pursuant to the provisions of section 6 of the Deeds Registration Act, 1908; Assistant Commissioner of Stamp Duties; Assistant Registrar of Companies; Registrar of Building Societies; Registrar of Industrial and Provident Societies; and Assistant Registrar of Incorporated Societies at Napier, as from the 1st day of November, 1937.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Block XIV, Tuhua Survey District, for the Purposes of a Road.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a road—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Taumarunui and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken: 3 acres 1 rood 8 perches.

Being portion of Rangitoto-Tuhua 2H Block.

Situated in Block XIV, Tuhua Survey District (Auckland R.D.). (S.O. 29188.)

In the Auckland Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 97359, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured yellow.

Warrant in Terms of the Traffic Regulations 1936, Approving of Appliances for use on Motor-vehicles.

IN terms of Regulation 10 of the Traffic Regulations, 1936, I, Robert Semple, Minister of Transport, do hereby approve of the appliances described in the Schedule hereto for use on or in connection with a motor-vehicle additional to the lamps required by regulation 7 of the said regulations, provided that and so long as the said appliances are identical in design, construction, make, and effect with the samples thereof deposited in the office of the Transport Department, Wellington.
