(b) Also all that area of land comprising part of the County of Hawera and part of the County of Patea bounded by a line commencing at a point at the mouth of the Tongahoe Stream and proceeding in a southerly direction generally along the sea-coast to the mouth of the Whenuakura River; thence up the middle of that river in a northerly direction generally to a point opposite an extension of the northern boundary of Section 3, Block XV, Opaku Survey District; thence along that extension and that boundary in an easterly direction to Okahutini Road; thence along that road in a northerly direction to the northern boundary of Section 458, Block XV, Opaku Survey District; thence along the said northern boundary of that section to Okotuku Road; thence along that road in a southerly direction to the Wellington-Taranaki Land District boundary; thence following along the provincial boundary generally in a north-easterly direction to where it meets the boundary of the Waitotara County; thence generally in a northerly direction along the boundary of the Waitotara County until it meets the southern boundary of the Stratford County; thence generally in a westerly and southerly direction along the northern boundary of the Patea County until it meets the boundary of the Hawera County; thence generally in a westerly direction along the northern boundary of the Hawera County until it meets the eastern boundary of the South Taranaki Electric-power District; thence generally in a southerly direction along the eastern boundary of the South Taranaki Electric-power District to the sea and the point of commencement at the mouth of the Tongahoe Stream, but not including in such area the Borough of Patea, the boundaries whereof are defined in the New Zealand Gazette of 1882, at page 124. As the said area is more particularly delineated on plan marked P.W.D. 80915, and thereon edged red, excepting that area on plan marked P.W.D. 96657, coloured orange, both plans being deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 27th day of October, 1937.

Constituting the Borough of Manurewa.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS, in accordance with the provisions of section one hundred and thirty-five of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, a petition was presented to the Governor-General praying that the area described in the said petition be constituted a new borough :

And whereas the provisions of the said section one hundred and thirty-five have been complied with in respect thereto, and the result of the poll taken on the proposal that the area should be constituted a new borough was in favour thereof :

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the area described in the Schedule hereto shall be constituted a borough under the said Act; that the name of such borough shall be the Borough of Manurewa; and that the number of Councillors to be elected to the Council of the said borough shall be eight, exclusive of the Mayor :

And I do further proclaim and declare that Hubert Kay, of Manurewa, shall be the Returning Officer to conduct the first election of Mayor and Councillors of the said borough; and that the said Hubert Kay shall be the Town Clerk and the person to prepare the district electors roll for the purposes of the said first election :

And, lastly, I do proclaim and declare that the first election of Mayor and Councillors of the said borough shall be held on Wednesday, the eighth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-seven, and that the first meeting of the Council of the said borough shall be held on Wednesday, the fifteenth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-seven, at half-past seven o’clock in the afternoon, in the office of the Town Board, Manurewa.

SCHEDULE.

BOROUGH OF MANUREWA.

ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District, commencing at a point in Block XI, Otahuhu Survey District, where the south-western boundary of Lot 21, D.P. 12986, meets the southern side of Oram’s Road; thence in a generally south-easterly direction along the south-western and south-eastern boundaries of Lot 21 aforesaid, the south-eastern boundary of Lot 22, D.P. 12986, the south-western boundaries of parts Allotment 6, Clendon’s Grant, shown on D.P.s 12411 and 12410 respectively, the south-eastern boundaries of parts Allotment 6 on D.P.s 12410 and 12411 respectively to a point distant 991 links from the south-eastern corner of part Allotment 6 on D.P. 12411 aforesaid; thence along a right line passing through part Allotment 6 on D.P. 6888, the crossing of Hill Road, and passing through Lot 2, D.P. 12236, to the north-western corner of Lot 19, D.P. 10693; thence along the south-eastern boundary of Lot 2, D.P. 12236 aforesaid, the south-western boundaries of Lots 9 and 1, D.P. 16622, to and across Alfriston Road; thence along the south-eastern side of that road to the north-western corner of Lot 2, D.P. 4199; thence along the south-western boundary of Lot 2 aforesaid and its production through Lots 4 and 5, D.P. 4199, to the Papakura Stream; thence in a south-westerly direction generally down the Papakura Stream to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Allotment 10, Papakura Parish; thence in a generally north-westerly direction along the north-western boundary of Allotment 10 aforesaid, the north-eastern boundaries of two portions of Allotment 9, Papakura Parish, each containing 10 acres, the north-western boundary of the last-mentioned part Allotment 9 and its production to and across Coxhead’s Road; thence along a right line parallel to the south-eastern boundary of Allotment 6, Papakura Parish, to a point distant 1300 links from the south-western side of Coxhead’s Road; thence along a right line parallel to Coxhead’s Road passing through Allotment 6 aforesaid, the crossing of a public road, and passing through Lots 29, 28, 27, 26, 25, and 1, all on D.P. 16664, to a point distant 1500 links from the south-eastern side of Weymouth Road; thence along a right line parallel to Weymouth Road passing through Lot 1, D.P. 16664 aforesaid, the crossing of a public road, and through Lot 21, D.P. 16664, to its junction with a line parallel to and distant 800 links from the north-eastern boundary of Lot 34, D.P. 4436; thence along that line passing through Lots 21 and 19, D.P. 16664, the crossing of Weymouth Road, and passing through part Lot 34 on D.P. 4436 and part Lot 34 on D.P. 11872 to the north-eastern boundary of the last-mentioned lot; thence along the north-eastern and north-western boundaries of part Lot 34 on D.P. 11872, and the north-western boundaries of Lot 35, D.P. 4436, and Lot 13, D.P. 7456; thence along the north-eastern boundary of Lot 50, D.P. 4436, and its production across Brown’s Road and through part Allotment 4, Clendon’s Grant, to the south-eastern boundary of part Allotment 4, Clendon’s Grant, comprised in Certificate of Title, Vol. 517, folio 242 (Auckland Registry); thence in a north-easterly direction along the last-mentioned boundary to the North Island Main Trunk Railway; thence along a right line across that railway and through Lot 4, D.P. 23681, to the south-western corner of part Allotment 5, Clendon’s Grant, shown on D.P. 23201; thence along the generally southern boundary of part Allotment 5 aforesaid, across the Great South Road, and through part Allotment 5, Clendon’s Grant, shown on D.P. 20276, to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Lot 21, D.P. 12986; thence along a right line through part Allotment 5 aforesaid to and across Oram’s Road to the point of commencement.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 29th day of October, 1937.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section twelve of the Land Act, 1924, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim as closed the road in Hangaroa Survey District described in the Schedule hereto.
