This section is situated in the Township of Rangataua on
the corner of Marino and Kaha Streets, a quarter of a mile
distant from the school and half a mile from the post-office
and railway-station. The section is level and dry and would
be a good building-site.

SUBURBAN LAND.

Rangataua Town District.—Township of Rangataua.

Section 14, Block X : Area, 11 acres 0 roods 19 perches.
Upset price, £22 10s.

Weighted with £262 (to be paid in cash) for improvements,
comprising dwelling, shed, 14 chains of road fencing, 10 chains
of subdivisional fencing, half-share of 16 chains of boundary-
fencing, ditches, and drains, clearing, burning, and stumping.

This section is situated on the Piwau Road, half a mile by
metalled road from Rangataua Post-office and Railway-
station, and quarter of a mile from the school ; the dairy
factory at Ohakune is four miles distant and the saleyards
at Raetihi are nine miles distant. The section is flat to
undulating, somewhat swampy, with soil of a fair loam resting
on an agglomerate formation ; watered by springs. The
property is subdivided into four paddocks, and is suitable as
a cottage farm for a man who is prepared to do some cropping
as a side line. Altitude 2,300 ft. approximately. The whole
area has been felled and 5 acres have been stumped.

Section 7, Block XI : Area, 5 acres 2 roods 7 perches.
Upset price, £15.

Weighted with £41 (to be paid in cash) for improvements,
comprising 3 acres stumped and 34 chains of fencing.

This section has a frontage to Marino Street, Town of
Rangataua, and is about quarter of a mile from the school
and half a mile from the post-office and railway-station.
The land is of fair quality, and is watered partly by a stream
and partly by a swamp.

Borough of Ohakune.—Town of Ohakune Extension No. 2.

Section 5, Block XIX : Area, 1 acre. Upset price, £15.

Each section is weighted with £5 (to be paid in cash) for
improvements, comprising felling, grassing, and 4 chains of
fencing.

These sections are situated three-quarters of a mile from
Ohakune Post-office and Rochfort Railway-station, one-
quarter of a mile from Ohakune School, and three miles from
the Ohakune Dairy Factory, the access being by metalled
road from Raetihi, eight miles distant. The sections are
level building-sites, cleared and grassed, but somewhat wet,
with soil of a light quality loam resting on an agglomerate
formation.

Kaitieke County.—Kakahi Village Settlement.

Section 23, Block I : Area, 1 acre 0 roods 1 perch. Upset
price, £10.

Weighted with £15 (to be paid in cash) for improvements,
comprising felling, grassing, and stumping, 6 chains of fencing,
and cottage 20 ft. by 15 ft. with iron roof and chimney, poor
condition.

This section is situated half a mile from Kakahi Post-office
and Railway-station by metalled road, and a quarter of a
mile from Kakahi School. The section comprises all level
land in grass, watered by a stream, and the soil is of a light
quality loam resting on a papa formation, the general quality
of the property being fair.

Rangitikei County.—Mataroa Township.

Suburban Section 22 : Area, 3 roods 8 perches. Upset
price, £5.

Weighted with £7 (to be paid in cash) for improvements,
comprising felling, stumping, and 7 chains of fencing.

The section is situated half a mile from Mataroa Post-office
and School and one mile from the Mataroa Railway-station,
the access being by metalled road. The section comprises
an easy hill face all in grass with soil of a fair quality loam
resting on a papa formation ; there is no water, but the general
quality is fair.

STATE FOREST SERVICE NOTICES.

Milling-timber for Sale by Public Tender.

State Forest Service,
Auckland, 26th October, 1937.

NOTICE is hereby given that written tenders for the
purchase of the undermentioned milling-timber will
close at the office of the State Forest Service, Auckland, at
4 o’clock p.m., on Monday, 15th November, 1937.

SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND FOREST - CONSERVATION REGION.—AUCKLAND
LAND DISTRICT.

ALL the milling-timber, branded “T” and numbered, on that
piece of land containing approximately 175 acres, being
parts of Sections 6 and 10, Block VIII, Kawakawa Survey
District (part of Provisional State Forest No. 117).

The block is situated about five miles from Opua.

The total estimated quantity of timber in cubic feet is
44,533, or in board feet 291,100, made up as follows :—

Time for removal of timber : Two years.

Terms of Payment.

A marked cheque for one-sixth of the tendered price,
together with £1 1s. license fee, must accompany the tender,
and the balance be paid by five equal quarterly instalments,
the first of which shall be paid three months after the date
of sale.

Terms and Conditions.

  1. All instalment-payments shall be secured by “on
    demand” promissory notes made and endorsed to the satis-
    faction of the Commissioner of State Forests, and interest at
    the rate of 1 per cent. per annum in excess of current bank-
    overdraft rates will be charged on all notes overdue from
    the date of maturity to the date of payment.

  2. The right to cut and remove the timber will be sold in
    accordance with the provisions of the Forests Act, 1921–22,
    the regulations in force thereunder, and these conditions.

  3. The aforementioned quality, quantity, and kind as to
    the said timber shall be taken as sufficiently accurate for
    the purposes of this sale, and no contract for the purchase
    shall be voidable, nor shall the successful purchaser be en-
    titled to any abatement in price, by reason of the said timber
    being of less quantity, quality, or kind as stated herein or in
    any advertisement having reference to the said timber.

  4. A return giving the number of logs cut of each species
    and their contents must be made quarterly by the licensee
    on the last days of March, June, September, and December,
    respectively, in each year. A return must also be made on the
    same dates showing the output of sawn timber of each species.
    These returns may be ascertained and verified by inspection
    of the books of the mill, or by such other means as the Con-
    servator may require, and for this purpose the accounts and
    books shall be open to the inspection of the Conservator, a
    Forest Ranger, or other duly authorized officer.

  5. The attention of all tenderers is drawn to the fact that
    the local controlling body may require the successful tenderer
    to pay any claims or charges which may be made by that
    body for the maintenance of the road over which the timber
    may be transported, and before a sawmill license is issued a
    letter indicating that satisfactory arrangements have been
    made in this connection must be produced to the undersigned.

  6. Intending tenderers are expected to visit the locality
    and to satisfy themselves in every particular on all matters
    relative to the sale.

  7. Each tenderer must state the total price that he is pre-
    pared to pay for the timber. The highest or any tender will
    not necessarily be accepted, and the timber described is sub-
    mitted for sale subject to the final acceptance of the tender
    by the Commissioner of State Forests.

  8. The right is reserved to the Commissioner of State
    Forests to withdraw from sale any or all of the said timber
    either before or after the closing date for receipt of tenders.
