This property is situated on a side road off the Mangonui-
Kohumaru Road; access is from Mangonui six miles and one
quarter distant by metalled road for six miles and clay road
for one-quarter of a mile. Approximately 4 acres flats in
paspalum, 40 acres easy undulating land, ploughed and
grassed but now reverting, 16 acres hilly and broken land
in fern, tea-tree, and a small area of bush; well watered by
a permanent spring.

NOTE.-This area is not considered suitable as a separate
holding but should prove very suitable as a run-off for use
in conjunction with other land in the locality.

by Public Auction.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned education reserves will be offered for lease by public auction
at the North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office,
Auckland, at 2.30 o'clock p.m. on Wednesday, 10th November,
1937, under the provisions of the Education Reserves Act,
1928, and the Public Bodies' Leases Act, 1908.

SCHEDULE.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.-EDUCATION RESERVES.
Eden County.-Town of Whau South, City of Auckland.
Lot 1 of Allotment 283 : Area, 30-7 perches. Upset annual
rent, £2 10s.

Lot 2 of Allotment 283 : Area, 30-7 perches. Upset annual
rent, £2 10s.

Lot 3 of Allotment 283 : Area, 30-7 perches. Upset annual
rent, £2 10s.

Lot 4 of Allotment 283 : Area, 30-7 perches. Upset annual
rent, £2 10s.

These sections are situated on Hill Street, off Blockhouse
Bay Road, Avondale. The Blockhouse Bay School and Store
are close by and the Avondale tram-terminus, shopping-
centre, and Railway-station are about two miles distant.
A frequent bus service operates from Avondale to Blockhouse
Bay. The sections, which are level and elevated, are quite
suitable for residential purposes. The soil is of a clay nature.

Form of lease may be perused and any further particulars
required may be obtained at the office of the undersigned.

Land in Taranaki Land District for Selection on Renewable
Lease.

District Lands and Survey Office,
New Plymouth, 29th September, 1937.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned land is
open for selection under the Land Act, 1924, and
applications will be received at the District Lands and
Survey Office, New Plymouth, up to 4 o'clock p.m. on
Friday, 22nd October, 1937.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at
the District Lands and Survey Office, New Plymouth, on
Wednesday, 27th October, 1937, at 10.30 a.m., but if any
applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any
other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

Applicants are required to produce for inspection when
examined documentary evidence of their financial position,
such as bank pass-books, certificates or letters of credit from
managers of banks, financial institutions, or mercantile firms,
or from private persons or parents undertaking to give
financial assistance. Persons undertaking to assist financially
should state to what extent they are prepared to do so and
supply guarantees of their own financial position.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the
examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is
required to pay immediately at the conclusion of the ballot
a deposit comprising the first half-year's rent, broken-period
rent, lease and mortgage fees, deposit in reduction of improvement loading, and proportionate part of insurance on buildings.

SCHEDULE.

TARANAKI LAND DISTRICT.-SECOND-CLASS LAND.
Waitomo County.-Aria Survey District.
(Exempt from payment of rent for four years.*)
SECTIONS 14 and 18, and Subsections 1 and 2 of Section 16,
Block VI : Area, 285 acres 3 roods 5 perches. Capital value,
£200 ; half-yearly rent, £4.

  • After payment of the required deposit an exemption
    from payment of rent will be allowed for a period of four
    years provided improvements to the value of £25 are effected
    annually during the exemption period.

Weighted with £175 for improvements, comprising dwelling,
cow-byre, 120 chains fencing, 25 chains drains, 220
acres felled and burned, 50 acres surface sown, and 15 acres
cultivated. This sum is payable in cash, or, after payment
of a deposit of £25, the balance may be secured on first
mortgage to the State Advances Corporation for a term of
fifteen years with interest at the rate ruling at date of
selection. The cost (£2 15s.) for preparation of the mortgage
must be paid immediately an application is declared successful. A remission of interest payable under the mortgage
will be allowed for a period of two years provided improvements to at least the value of the interest remitted are
effected.

A grazing farm on which a limited amount of dairying
could be carried on. Situated on the Paro Road, seven
miles from Aria Post-office, two miles from Kaeaea School,
thirty-two miles from the Te Kuiti Railway-station, and
seven miles from the Aria Dairy Factory and saleyards;
access is by metalled road. The soil is light loam resting
on mostly ryolite and clay formation. The property is
watered by streams and springs and is subdivided into three
paddocks. Ragwort and blackberry are prevalent.

on Friday, 5th November, 1937.

Tuesday, 9th November, 1937, at 10.30 o'clock a.m.; but if
any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any
other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

Loaded with the sum of £114 (payable in cash) for improvements comprising fencing

This property is situated on Spreadeagle Road, four miles
and a half from Alford Forest, post-office, and school, and
twelve miles from Springburn Railway-station; access is
provided by shingle road from Alford Forest. The area,
which is watered by Council water-race, has an altitude of
about 1,200 ft. and comprises all flat and ploughable land;
subdivided into seven paddocks. The soil is light and stony,
resting on clay formation. The property is well sheltered
on the eastern boundary by a Council plantation, otherwise
very exposed.
