Incorporated Societies Act, 1908.—Declaration by the Assistant Registrar dissolving a Society.

I, ROY FELLOWES BAIRD, Assistant Registrar of Incorporated Societies, do hereby declare that, as it has been made to appear to me that Napier Progressive Association, Incorporated, is no longer carrying on operations, the aforesaid society is hereby dissolved in pursuance of section 28 of the Incorporated Societies Act, 1908.

CROWN LANDS NOTICE.

Lands in Wellington Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.

District Lands and Survey Office,
Wellington, 15th September, 1937.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned sections are open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Wellington, up to 3 o’clock p.m. on Friday, 22nd October, 1937.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Wellington, on Wednesday, 27th October, 1937, at 10 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

Applicants are required to produce for inspection when examined documentary evidence of their financial position, such as bank pass-books, certificates or letters of credit from managers of banks, financial institutions, or mercantile firms, or from private persons or parents undertaking to give financial assistance. Persons undertaking to assist financially should state to what extent they are prepared to do so and supply guarantees of their own financial position.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, lease fee (and, in the case of Section 18, Block XII, Kaitieke Survey District, a mortgage fee), and deposit in reduction of improvement loading.


SCHEDULE.

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LANDS.

Kaitieke County.—Kaitieke Survey District.

(Exempt from payment of rent for three years.)

Section 18, Block XII: Area, 191 acres. Capital value, £190; half-yearly rent, £3 16s.

*The exemption from rent is granted subject to the lessee effecting permanent improvements to a value of not less than £25 annually during the exemption period.

Weighted with £212 for improvements, comprising where (poor condition), 30 chains road fencing, 10 chains subdivisional fencing, 84 chains of boundary-fencing, 60 acres felled, burned, and sown, and 2 acres cleared and stumped. This sum is payable in cash, or, after payment of a deposit of £22, the balance may be secured on mortgage payable by instalments over a period of from ten years to fifteen years with interest at 5 per cent. per annum. The half-yearly instalment on a ten-year term would be £12 3s. 10d., and on a fifteen-year term would be £9 1s. 8d.

This section is situated on the main Taumarunui-Raurimu Road, four miles from Raurimu Post-office, School, and Railway-station, twenty-four miles from the Kaitieke Dairy Factory, and twelve miles from the Owhango Saleyards. The access is by metalled road from Raurimu. The section, altitude from 1,600 ft. to 1,800 ft., is watered by streams, and the soil is of a light quality loam resting on a clay formation; subdivided into two paddocks. Of the total area, about 60 acres consists of easy undulating country and the balance is hilly and rough; 60 acres are in grass, but the balance is in fern and milled bush. This property is not a suitable farming proposition by itself as it is subject to deterioration and should be worked in conjunction with a neighbouring section.
