Notice of Intention to take Land in Block XVI, Maraeakako Survey District, and Block XIII, Te Mata Survey District, for Broadcasting Purposes (Transmitter-site).

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a broadcasting station—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken: And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Opapa and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a road—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken: And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Rotoiti and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken: 5 perches.

Being portion of Rangatira 8a 2a 2 Block.

Notice respecting Proposed Alteration of Boundaries, Borough of Balclutha.

Wellington, 7th September, 1937.

IT is hereby notified that a petition has been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General, under the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, praying that the area described in the Schedule hereto may be excluded from the County of Bruce and included in the Borough of Balclutha. All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the proposed alteration of boundaries which they desire to lodge within one month from the first publication of this notice, such objections or petitions to be addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.

SCHEDULE.

AREA PROPOSED TO BE EXCLUDED FROM COUNTY OF BRUCE AND INCLUDED IN BOROUGH OF BALCLUTHA.

ALL that area in the Otago Land District containing by admeasurement 34 acres, more or less, being Sections 1, 2, and 27, Block XVII, Town of Balclutha, and being the Townships of Helensborough and Springfield: Bounded on the east by Sections 28 and 43, Block XVII, Town of Balclutha, on the south-west by Yarmouth Street, on the north-west by Section 3, Block XVII, Town of Balclutha, and on the north-east generally by Elizabeth Street and the Main South Road to the north-western corner of Section 28 aforesaid, the place of commencement.

Administration of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1928, in Stratford County.—(Notice No. Ag. 3502.)

THE following resolution passed by the Stratford County Council on the 20th day of August, 1937, is published in accordance with the provisions of section 7 (2) of the Noxious Weeds Amendment Act, 1934:—

RESOLUTION.

THAT under the provisions of section 7 of the Noxious Weeds Amendment Act, 1934, the Stratford County Council assume responsibility for the administration of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1928, as from the 1st September, 1937.

THE following claim for the registration of school colours, &c., has been made in accordance with the regulations published in the New Zealand Gazette on the 12th August, 1915, and amendments thereto.

The claim will be registered unless objection is received by me within forty days of the publication hereof.

EYsom PUBLIC SCHOOL.

Colours: Dark blue and white.

Motto: Success Crowns Effort.

Crest: A shield halved diagonally blue and white bearing a crown superimposed over an open book, the whole superimposed over a scroll bearing the motto.
