to be a member of the Land Board for the Land District of Hawke’s Bay for a term of two years from the 24th day of August, 1937; and

William Blackadder and
Arthur Rutland Edwards

to be members of the Land Board for the Land District of Nelson for terms of two years from the 18th day of August, 1937, and 21st day of September, 1937, respectively.

Jack Cameron Fagan

to be a trustee of the Sandon Public Park in place of Laurie Chesney Ellerm, resigned, to act in conjunction with Henry John Fagan, Wilfred Henry Henson, Willoughby Ernest Pearce, and John Henry Shore Perrett previously appointed.

ROMILLY CARVETH HARRY, Esquire, of Adelaide, in the State of South Australia, a solicitor of the Supreme Court of South Australia, has this day been appointed by The Right Honourable Sir Michael Myers, G.C.M.G., Chief Justice of New Zealand, a Commissioner of the Supreme Court of New Zealand in the State of South Australia under the 47th section of the Judicature Act, 1908, for the purpose of administering and taking all such oaths, affidavits, and affirmations as in the said section mentioned.

UPPER HUTT BOROUGH COUNCIL.

PURSUANT to section 13 (1) of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Upper Hutt taken on the 31st day of July, 1937, on the proposal of the Upper Hutt Borough Council to borrow the sum of £6,000 for kerbing and channelling of streets within the Borough of Upper Hutt—

Votes.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 274
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 244

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Block XIX, Town of Dacre, for Broadcasting Purposes (Transmitter-site).

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a broadcasting station—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken: And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Invercargill, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.


SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken:
15 acres 3 roods 19 perches.
Being Section 3, Block XIX, Town of Dacre.

In the Southland Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 96953, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon edged red.
