THE following notice, received from the Chairman, Manukau County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

Papatoetoe Water-supply Extension Loan, 1936, of £1,100.
PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Papatoetoe Riding Water-supply Extension Loan, 1936, £1,100, Special-rating Area of the County of Manukau taken on the 4th day of August, 1937, on the proposal of the Manukau County Council to borrow the sum of £1,100 for the purpose of laying water-mains and doing all other things necessary for the supply of water and fire-fighting facilities to properties in the Papatoetoe Riding Water-supply Extension Special Area in the Papatoetoe Riding of the County of Manukau—

Notice of Intention to take Land in the City of Wellington for the Purposes of Public Buildings of the General Government.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for the purposes of public buildings of the General Government: And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the Head Office of the Public Works Department at Wellington, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days of the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.

APPROXIMATE areas of the pieces of land required to be taken :—

Declaring Area to be a Closely Populated Locality for the Purposes of the Motor-vehicles Amendment Act, 1936, Section 3.
IN terms of section 3 of the Motor-vehicles Amendment Act, 1936, the Minister of Transport does hereby declare the area described in the Schedule hereto to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of the said section to the intent that a person driving any motor-vehicle on any road, street, or other place to which the public have access therein shall be subject to the maximum speed-limit of thirty miles an hour fixed by the said section.
SCHEDULE.
SITUATED within the Rangiora County—
All that area adjoining Kaiapoi–Waddington via Rangiora and Bennetts Main Highway No. 112 from the Rangiora Borough boundary to the junction of Torless Street with the said main highway, a distance of approximately 22 chains.

Excluding Streets and Roads from Limitation as to Speed imposed by the Motor-vehicles Amendment Act, 1936, Section 3.
IN terms of section 3 of the Motor-vehicles Amendment Act, 1936, the Minister of Transport does hereby exclude the streets and roads described in the Schedule hereto from the limitation as to speed imposed by the said section.

SITUATED within Havelock North Town District—
Mangateretere – Havelock North Main Highway No. 416 (all that portion from the northern boundary of Havelock North Town District to a point on the said main highway opposite the northern boundary of the Havelock Domain, a distance of approximately 50 chains).
Hastings–Waimarama Main Highway No. 527 (all that portion from the eastern boundary of Havelock North Town District to the junction of the said main highway with Te Mata Peak Road, a distance of approximately 9 chains).
Middle Road (all that portion from the south-western boundary of Havelock North Town District to the junction of the said road with Lucknow Street, a distance of approximately 23 chains).
Te Aute Road (all that portion from the western boundary of Havelock North Town District to a point 5 chains measured in a westerly direction along the said road from its junction with Hastings–Waimarama Main Highway No. 527, a distance of approximately 43 chains).
SITUATED within Ormondville Town District—
Norsewood–Whetukura Main Highway No. 35 (all that portion from the northern boundary of Ormondville Town District to the junction of Johnston Street and the said main highway, a distance of approximately 20 chains).
Waipukurau–Matamau via Hatuma Main Highway No. 415 (all that portion from a point 10 chains measured along the road in a westerly direction from the Ormondville Railway-station to the western boundary of Ormondville Town District near Makotuku, a distance of approximately 2 miles).
SITUATED within Taradale Town District—
Napier–Hastings via Fernhill Main Highway No. 28 (all that portion from the southern boundary of Taradale Town District to a point on the said main highway opposite the entrance to the Taradale Motor Camp, a distance of approximately 20 chains).
Neave–Harpham Main Highway No. 541 (all that portion from its junction with Taradale Cemetery Main Highway near the western boundary of Taradale Town District to the junction of Neave–Harpham Main Highway with Church Street, a distance of approximately 26 chains).
Taradale Cemetery Main Highway No. 560 (all that portion from its junction with Dolbel Street to the western boundary of Taradale Town District, a distance of approximately 23 chains).
Taradale–Meeanee Road (all that portion from its junction with Guppy’s Road to the eastern boundary of Taradale Town District, a distance of approximately 20 chains).
