Minister's Decisions under Sales Tax Act, 1932-33.

Customs Department, Wellington, 29th July, 1937.

IT is hereby notified for public information that the Minister of Customs has decided to interpret the Sales Tax Act,
1932-33 (hereinafter referred to as "the Act"), as under:—

It should be understood that the decisions contained herein may be revised from time to time in the light of further
information which may be obtained by the Minister.

C (s) 3/47/5 43 Machinery, &c., of a class or kind which, if they had been approved by the Minister under item 352 of the Customs Tariff, would have been admitted thereunder Clamps, "Richmac" and similar (including the bolt or coach screw when supplied therewith as ordinary standard equipment therefor), for use in supporting the neutral wire of a low tension transmission-line on a pole or cross-arm.

C (s) 12/1/2 43 Surgeons', &c., appliances, instruments, and materials, viz., appliances (including splints) for wear, even if medicated, peculiarly adapted to correct a deformity of the human body, to afford support to an abnormal condition of the human body, or to reduce or alleviate such condition, or to substitute any part of such body, &c. (Tariff item 134 (1)) Invalids' chairs.

NOTICE is hereby given that the matters mentioned in the Schedule hereunder written will be heard by the Native Land
Court sitting at Tokomaru Bay on the 23rd August, 1937, or as soon thereafter as the business of the Court will allow.
