3. SYSTEM OF SUPPLY.
The system of supply shall be the system described in
paragraphs $(a)$ and $(f)$ of clause $21-01$ of the Electrical
Supply Regulations, $1935 .$ The primary distribution voltage
shall be 11,000 volts between phases, the secondary dis-
tribution voltage shall be 400 volts between phases and 230
volts between any phase and neutral.
4. DURATION OF LICENSE.
Unless sooner determined, this license shall continue in
force until the $31 st$ day of March, 1958.
5. CHARGES ON SALE.
Maximum Charges.
(1) The licensee shall not in respect of electrical energy
distributed under the authority of this license make any
charges exceeding those set out hereunder :—
$(a)$ In the case of a supply for lighting purposes, of a sum
of $8 d$. per unit reducible on payment within fourteen
days of due date to $6 d$. per unit.
$(b)$ In the case of supply for motor-power, heating, cooking,
or any purpose other than lighting, and other than
a wholesale supply, a sum of $4 d$. per unit, reducible
on payment within fourteen days of due date to
$3 d$. per unit.
Minimum Charges.
(2) Notwithstanding the foregoing provisions, the licensee
may in the case of any supply make such minimum charge
as may be authorized by regulations.
Intervals of Payment.
(3) Payment shall not be demanded from any consumer
on dates at intervals apart of less than twenty-one days.
System of Charging.
(4) Nothing in this clause shall prevent the licensee adopt-
ing a system of charging whereby one meter registers current
for lighting, heating, and/or cooking, and of the current so
registered a portion assessed by the licensee shall be charged
at lighting rates and the balance at heating and cooking
rates.
Definition for the Purposes of this Clause.
(5) “Lighting purposes” includes the operation of motor-
generators for lighting purposes and the charging of batteries
or accumulators used solely or principally for lighting pur-
poses.
SCHEDULE.
ELECTRIC lines adapted for the supply of electrical energy by
the system of supply hereinbefore described within that
portion of the County of Makara bounded by a line com-
mencing on the boundary of the Hutt Valley Electric-power
District at the northernmost corner of Section 99, Block II,
Port Nicholson Survey District, and following the boundary
of the Hutt Valley Electric-power District aforesaid generally
in a southerly direction to the point where that boundary-
line meets the Wellington City boundary at the southern-
most point of the Otari Scenic Reserve; thence following
the boundary of the Wellington City generally in a southerly
direction to the coast ; thence following the coast first in a
westerly direction generally and then in a northerly direction
generally to the point of commencement; the said area
being more particularly delineated on the plan marked
P.W.D. 95172, deposited in the office of the Minister of
Public Works at Wellington, and thereon bordered yellow.

Authorizing Eric Lawrence Broberg, of Paihia, to erect certain
Electric Lines in the County of Bay of Islands.
GALWAY, Governor-General.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 4th day of
August, 1937.
Present:
His EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the
I Public Works Act, 1928, and of all other powers in any-
wise enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with
the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said
Dominion, doth hereby authorize Eric Lawrence Broberg, of
Paihia (hereinafter referred to as “the licensee”), to lay,
construct, put up, place, and use the electric lines described
in the Schedule hereto on the following conditions.
CONDITIONS.

  1. PURPOSE OF LINES.
    THE said lines may be used for lighting, power, and heating
    purposes.
  2. LICENSE TO BE SUBJECT TO REGULATIONS.
    The license hereby conferred is subject to compliance by
    the licensee with the Electrical Wiring Regulations, 1935,
    the Electrical Supply Regulations, 1935, and with all regula-
    tions made or to be made in amplification or amendment
    thereof or in substitution therefor.
    The conditions directed to be implied in all licenses by
    the Electrical Supply Regulations, 1935, shall be incorporated
    herein and shall form part of this license, except in so far as
    the same may be inconsistent with the provisions hereof.
    3 SYSTEM OF SUPPLY.
    The system of supply shall be the system described in
    paragraph $(d)$ of clause $21-01$ of the Electrical Supply Regu-
    lations, 1935.
  3. GENERATING VOLTAGE.
    Electrical energy shall be generated and transmitted at a
    pressure of 230 volts alternating current between terminals.
  4. DURATION OF LICENSE.
    Unless sooner lawfully determined, this license shall con-
    tinue in force until the 31st day of March, 1957, or until
    electrical energy is available from an Electric-power Board or
    other general public source, whichever is the earlier.
  5. CHARGES ON SALE.
    Maximum Charges.
    (1) The licensee shall not in respect of electrical energy
    distributed under the authority of this license make any
    charges exceeding those set out hereunder :-
    (a) In the case of a supply for lighting purposes, a sum of
    $1 s .3 d$. per unit, reducible on payment within
    fourteen days of due date to $1 s$. per unit.
    (b) In the case of a supply for motor-power, heating,
    cooking, or any purpose other than lighting purposes,
    a sum of $6 d$. per unit, reducible on payment within
    fourteen days of due date to $4 \frac{1}{2} d$. per unit.
    Meter-rent.
    (2) In addition to such charges as aforesaid, the licensee
    may make such charges for the rental of meters as may be
    authorized by regulations.
    Minimum Charges.
    (3) Notwithstanding the foregoing provisions, the licensee
    may in the case of any supply make such minimum charge as
    may be authorized by regulations.
    Intervals of Payments.
    (4) Payment shall not be demanded from any consumer on
    dates at intervals apart of less than twenty-one days.
    Definitions.
    (5) For the purposes of this regulation “lighting purposes”
    includes the operation of motor-generators for lighting
    purposes and the charging of batteries or accumulators used
    solely or principally for lighting purposes.
    SCHEDULE.
    LINES adapted for supply as prescribed in these presents for
    the transmission of electrical energy leading from the
    licensee’s generating station situated in Sections 5 and 6,
    D.P. $11040$, to the premises known as the Paihia Hall, in
    Sections 25 and 26, D.P. $11040$; all being situated in O.L.C.
    251, Town of Paihia, Block IV, Kawakawa Survey District,
    in the Land District of North Auckland, and shown by means
    of black lines on plan P.W.D. 93641, deposited in the office
    of the Minister of Public Works.
