Retirements in the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve (New Zealand Division).

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the undermentioned officers of the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve (New Zealand Division) being placed on the Retired List, to date 16th July, 1937, with permission to wear the prescribed uniform :—

Royal N.Z. Air Force.—Secondments, Attachments, Postings, &c., of Officers.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the following secondments, attachments, postings, &c., of officers of the New Zealand Air Forces :—

SECONDMENTS.

THE undermentioned officers proceeded to England on the 22nd June, 1937, for courses of training (on exchange with officers of the Royal Air Force), and are seconded while so employed :—

Squadron Leader M. W. Buckley, M.B.E.
Flying Officer H. W. Duffy.

Flying Officer F. R. Dix proceeded to England on the 13th July, 1937, to undergo a course of training with the Royal Air Force and is seconded while so employed.

TRANSFER TO RESERVE OF OFFICERS.

Flying Officer F. L. Truman is transferred to the Reserve of Officers. Dated 30th June, 1937.

ATTACHMENT OF OFFICERS OF THE ROYAL AIR FORCE.

The undermentioned officers, on exchange from the Royal Air Force, arrived from England on the 16th July, 1937, are attached, and have been appointed as follows :—

Flight Lieutenant Edouard Michael Fitzfrederick Grundy, posted to Air Force Headquarters for Signals duties.
Flight Lieutenant Leslie Crocker, posted to Air Force Headquarters for Engineering duties.

Flying Officer F. R. Newell is confirmed in his appointment. Dated 1st June, 1937.

Pilot Officer H. P. B. Dive, No. 1 (Army Co-operation) Squadron, resigns his commission on appointment to a short-service commission in the Royal N.Z. Air Force. Dated 8th June, 1937.

to be Resident Commissioner of Rarotonga for the purposes of the Cook Islands Act, 1915, as from the 24th day of June, 1937.

Lionel Frederick Hickman,

to be Registrar of Marriages and Registrar of Births and Deaths for the District of Waitahuna, as from the 13th day of July, 1937.

William Edward Somerville Watson,

to be Registrar of Marriages and Registrar of Births and Deaths for the District of West Taieri, as from the 24th day of June, 1937.

George Robert Bruce Bohen Berney,

to be Registrar of Marriages and Registrar of Births and Deaths for the District of Mount Cook, as from the 21st day of July, 1937.

Dick Herbert Thomas, and
Basil King,

to be Rangers for the purposes of the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921–22, to exercise their duties generally throughout the Dominion, as from the 26th day of July, 1937.

Constable George Frederick McKenzie,

to be Clerk and Bailiff of the Magistrates’ Court at Kawhia for the purposes of the Magistrates’ Courts Act, 1928, as from the 16th day of July, 1937.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Block V, Te Atiamuri Survey District, for the Purposes of a Quarry.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for the purposes of a quarry : And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Ongaroto, and is there open for inspection ; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.
