Where by reason of illness or absence any member of a
committee above named is unable to act in any particular
case, or where such member has been attending the injured
worker, or where such member has examined such worker on
the nomination of the employer or of any person by whom
the employer is entitled to be indemnified, the worker and the
employer may agree on some other medical practitioner to
take the place of such member, or, failing such agreement, the
remaining members of the committee may select some other
medical practitioner, and the medical practitioner so agreed
on or selected shall be deemed to be appointed as a member
of the committee for that particular case.

The appointments are dated the 20th day of July, 1937.

power and authority conferred by section 35 of the

Appointments, Promotions, and Transfers of Officers of the
N.Z. Military Forces.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased
to approve of the following appointments, promotions,
and transfers of officers of the New Zealand Military Forces :—

STAFF.

Colonel S. C. P. Nicholls, C.B.E., D.S.O., N.Z. Staff Corps,
relinquishes the appointment of Officer Commanding
Southern Military Command, Christchurch, dated 17th
July, 1937, and proceeds on leave pending retirement,
dated 18th July, 1937.

Lieutenant-Colonel P. H. Bell, D.S.O., N.Z. Staff Corps,
relinquishes the appointment of General Staff Officer,
Central Military Command, Wellington, dated 17th July,
1937, is appointed Officer Commanding Southern Military
Command, Christchurch, and is promoted to the rank of
Colonel, dated 18th July, 1937.

REGIMENT OF N.Z. ARTILLERY.

Captain F. M. Yendell ceases to be posted to the 18th
Anti-aircraft Battery and is posted to the 2nd Medium
Battery. Dated 8th July, 1937.

Lieutenant J. W. Moodie ceases to be posted to the 12th
Field Battery and is posted to the 18th Anti-aircraft
Battery. Dated 7th July, 1937.

Lieutenant J. L. Duigan ceases to be posted to the 20th Light
Battery and is posted to the 19th Medium Battery. Dated
16th July, 1937.

THE WELLINGTON REGIMENT.

2nd Lieutenant E. J. McAra, from The Otago Regiment, to
be 2nd Lieutenant, and is posted to the 1st Battalion,
with seniority from the 28th August, 1936, next below 2nd
Lieutenant G. S. Evatt. Dated 16th July, 1937.

THE HAWKE’S BAY REGIMENT.

Lieutenant A. H. Partridge, 1st Cadet Battalion, is transferred
to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 10. Dated
14th July, 1937.

THE CANTERBURY REGIMENT.

Lieutenant W. Hughes, from the Reserve of Officers, to be
Lieutenant with seniority from the 12th June, 1932, and is
posted to the 4th Cadet Battalion. Dated 28th June, 1937.

The appointment of 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) N. J.
Hosking, 3rd Cadet Battalion, is confirmed.

Wilfred Mason Tolerton to be 2nd Lieutenant and is posted
to the 1st Battalion. Dated 1st June, 1937.

THE NELSON, MARLBOROUGH, AND WEST COAST REGIMENT.

Percy Arnold Muirhead to be 2nd Lieutenant (on probation)
and is posted to the 2nd Cadet Battalion. Dated 19th
July, 1937.

THE OTAGO REGIMENT.

2nd Lieutenant E. J. McAra, 1st Battalion, is transferred to
The Wellington Regiment. Dated 16th July, 1937.

2nd Lieutenant H. T. Knight, supernumerary to establish-
ment, ceases to be seconded to the Otago University
Medical Company, N.Z.M.C., and is transferred to the
N.Z. Medical Corps. Dated 10th June, 1937.

David Ernest Murray to be 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) and
is posted to the 1st Cadet Battalion. Dated 1st July, 1937.

N.Z. MEDICAL CORPS.

2nd Lieutenant H. T. Knight, M.B., from The Otago Regiment,
to be Lieutenant, with seniority from the 10th December,
1936, and is posted to the 3rd Field Ambulance. Dated
10th June, 1937.

N.Z. CHAPLAINS DEPARTMENT.

The Reverend G. C. H. Phillips, Chaplain, 4th Class (Church
of England), is transferred from R.D. 8 to R.D. 12. Dated
19th July, 1937.
