WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

The Wellington City Council Renewal Loan, 1937.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and its amendments, and of all other Acts, powers, and authorities it in this behalf enabling, the Wellington City Council hereby resolves as follows :—

“ That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges of the loan of £234,000, known as the Wellington City Council Renewal Loan, 1937, the principal and interest whereof were directed by Order in Council dated the 30th day of June, 1937, gazetted on the 8th day of July, 1937, page 1604 (which amended Order in Council dated the 14th day of October, 1936), to be payable only in New Zealand, which loan of £234,000 is in place of the loan of the same name for £194,000 previously intended to be raised only in London and the principal and interest to be payable only in London, and which loan of £234,000 is authorized to be raised by the Wellington City Council under the above-mentioned Acts and the said Orders in Council for the purpose of repaying the two maturing loans named in the resolution of the Wellington City Council dated the 19th day of October, 1936, gazetted on the 26th day of November, 1936, page 2307 (whereby the special rate of ⁷⁶⁰⁄₈₀₀d. in the pound was levied as in the said resolution specified) hereby makes and levies a further special rate (additional to the said special rate of ⁷⁶⁰⁄₈₀₀d. in the pound) of ⁷⁸⁰⁄₈₀₀d. in the pound upon the rateable value (upon the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the whole of the City of Wellington, and resolves that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate commencing on the 1st day of March, 1937, and continuing during the currency of such loan of £234,000 and shall be payable yearly on the same date as the said special rate of ⁷⁶⁰⁄₈₀₀d. in the pound—namely, the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan of £234,000, being a period of ten years from the 1st day of March, 1937, or until the loan is fully paid off.

“ And the Wellington City Council hereby further resolves that the said special rate of ⁷⁶⁰⁄₈₀₀d. in the pound shall be continued during such period of ten years from the 1st day of March, 1937, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

The above resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the Wellington City Council held on the 14th day of July, 1937.

IN LIQUIDATION.

NOTICE is hereby given that a meeting of the creditors of Reg. Kilroy, Limited, will be held pursuant to section 234 of the Companies Act, 1933, at the offices of Messrs. J. S. McInnes and Sons, 5th Floor, New Zealand Express Company’s Building, 11 Bond Street, Dunedin, on Friday, the 23rd day of July, 1937, at 11 o’clock in the forenoon, at which meeting a full statement of the position of the company’s affairs, together with a list of the creditors and the estimated amount of their claims, will be laid before the meeting, and at which meeting the creditors, in pursuance of section 235 of the said Act, may nominate a person to be liquidator of the company, and, in pursuance of section 236 of the said Act, may appoint a committee of inspection. GOLDEN BAY ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Golden Bay Electric-power Board hereby resolves as follows :—

“ That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £1,500 authorized to be raised by the Golden Bay Electric-power Board under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of reticulating that part of the Power Board’s district described in the Gazette of 23rd July, 1936, page 1375, the said Golden Bay Electric-power Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one penny in the pound upon the capital rateable value of all rateable property of the special-rating area comprising all that area in the Land District of Nelson, in the County of Takaka, situated in Blocks II, III, IV, and V, Waitapu Survey District, bounded by a line commencing at the junction of the sea-coast with the boundary between part Section 52 and Section 51, Block V, Waitapu Survey District, on the north-western boundary of the Golden Bay Electric-power District as at present constituted, and proceeding thence in a south-westerly direction along the said north-western boundary of the Golden Bay Electric-power District, Block V, Waitapu Survey District, to the northern corner of Section 46 ; thence north-westerly along the south-western boundary of Section 9 to the public road ; thence along a straight line to the southern corner of Section 13 ; thence in a north-westerly direction along the south-western boundaries of Sections 13, 67, and 68 to the western corner of Section 68 ; thence south-westerly along the south-eastern boundaries of Sections 101 and 1 of Block IV, Waitapu Survey District, to the south-eastern corner of the last-mentioned section ; thence north-westerly along the south-western boundary of that section to its western corner ; thence south-westerly along the south-eastern boundary of part Section 1 to its south-eastern corner ; thence north-westerly along the south-western boundary of part Section 1 to its north-western corner ; thence north-easterly along the north-western boundary of the last-mentioned section to the boundary of Section 20, Block II, Waitapu Survey District ; thence north-westerly along the south-western boundaries of Section 20 and part of Section 2, Block II, to the boundary between the counties of Takaka and Collingwood as at present constituted ; thence north-easterly along that county boundary to the sea-coast ; thence in an easterly and southerly direction along the sea-coast to the point of commencement ; the same being more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 92759, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured green, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of fifteen years or until the loan is fully paid off.”

The above resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the Golden Bay Electric-power Board held on the 16th day of July, 1937.
