HEREWITH is published for general information, in accordance with the Land Agents Act, 1921–22, a supplementary list of persons licensed to carry on business as land-agents as on the 30th day of June, 1937.

REGISTER OF LICENSES ISSUED UNDER THE LAND AGENTS ACT, 1921–22.

NOTE.—The Register is arranged alphabetically under the names of holders of licenses; but when an individual holds a license on behalf of a firm or registered company the name of such firm or company, and not the name of the holder of the license, is placed in its alphabetical order.

In the case of a firm or company the name of which consists of the Christian name or names (or initials) and surname or surnames of some person or persons, the index letter is the first letter of the first surname.

Further, where an individual holder of a license trades under a particular name, the trade-name appears in its alphabetical order.

Notice under the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, and its Amendments, prohibiting the Sale within the Borough of Inglewood of certain Goods comprised in the Trade of a Tobacconist.

WHEREAS a petition in writing signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the tobacconists’ shops within the Borough of Inglewood has been forwarded to me desiring that the sale of certain goods comprised in the trade of a tobacconist—namely, cigars, cigarettes, tobacco, and smoking requisites—be prohibited during such time as the said shops are required to be closed in pursuance of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22 :

And whereas I, Patrick Charles Webb, Acting Minister of Labour, am satisfied that the sale of the said goods is comprised in the said trade within the said borough, and that the signatures to such petition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the said shops within the said borough :

Now, therefore, in pursuance of section 33 of the said Act, I do hereby direct that on and after the 9th day of August, 1937, the sale of the said goods within the said borough shall be and is hereby prohibited as follows: On Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays after the hour of 5.30 p.m., on Wednesdays after the hour of 8.30 p.m., and on Fridays and Saturdays after the hour of 9.30 p.m., with the following exceptions—(1) On the working-day immediately preceding Christmas Day and on the working-day immediately preceding New Year’s Day the sale of the said goods is not prohibited; and (2) on the working-day immediately preceding Good Friday the sale of the said goods is prohibited after the hour of 9.30 p.m. :

The notice gazetted on the 22nd October, 1936, prohibiting the sale within the Borough of Inglewood of certain goods comprised in the trade of a tobacconist is hereby cancelled as from the date of the coming into operation of this notice.

Notice under the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, and its Amendments, fixing the Closing-hours of (1) Hairdressers’ and (2) Tobacconists’ Shops within the Borough of Inglewood.

WHEREAS a requisition in writing has been forwarded to me from the occupiers of shops in each of the trades of (1) hairdresser and (2) tobacconist within the Borough of Inglewood pursuant to section 32 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22 :

And whereas I, Patrick Charles Webb, Acting Minister of Labour, am satisfied that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the shops in each of the said trades within the said borough :

Now, therefore, in pursuance of the said section 32, I do hereby direct that on and after the 9th day of August, 1937, all the shops in each of the said trades within the said borough shall be closed in the evenings of working-days as follows: Subject to closing at not later than the prescribed hour on the day observed as the statutory closing-day, on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays at 5.30 p.m., on Wednesdays, at 8.30 p.m., and on Saturdays at 9.30 p.m., with the following exceptions—(1) Should the occupier of any shop affected by this notice observe, pursuant to section 14 (2) of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, Saturday as the statutory closing-day, then and in such case the closing-hour on Friday shall be 9.30 p.m. ; (2) on the working-day immediately preceding Christmas Day and on the working-day immediately preceding New Year’s Day there shall be no fixed closing-hour ; and (3) on the working-day immediately preceding Good Friday the closing-hour shall be 9.30 p.m. :

The notice gazetted on the 22nd October, 1936, fixing the closing-hours of (1) hairdressers’ and (2) tobacconists’ shops within the Borough of Inglewood is hereby cancelled as from the date of the coming into operation of this notice.
