IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him
by the Public Works Act, 1928, and of all other powers
in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the
Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting
by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the land
described in the Schedule hereto being taken for the purposes
of a street.

Consenting to the Borrowing of Moneys by the Nelson City
Council by way of Bank Overdraft.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 7th day of
July, 1937.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the Nelson City Council (hereinafter called
“the said local authority”), being desirous of
borrowing the sum of eight thousand five hundred pounds
(£8,500) by way of bank overdraft under the provisions of
section thirty-two of the Finance Act, 1927 (No. 2), by a loan
to be known as “Electricity Overdraft Loan, 1937,” for
the purpose of erecting a transmission-line from the city
boundary to the power-house at Port Nelson, and purchasing
incidental equipment necessary to the taking of a bulk supply
of electrical energy from the Waimea Electric-power Board, has
complied with the provisions of the Local Government Loans
Board Act, 1926 (hereinafter called “the said Act”), and it
is expedient that the precedent consent of the Governor-
General in Council as required by the said Act should be given
to the borrowing as aforesaid :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion,
and in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred on him by section eleven of the said Act, as set out
in section twenty-nine of the Finance Act, 1932 (No. 2),
and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this
behalf, doth hereby consent to the borrowing of moneys
by the said local authority by way of bank overdraft under
the said section thirty-two up to the amount of eight thousand
five hundred pounds (£8,500), and in giving such consent doth
hereby determine as follows :—
(1) The term for which such moneys or any part thereof
may be borrowed shall not exceed four (4) years.
(2) The rate of interest payable from time to time shall
not exceed current bank overdraft rate of interest to best
customers.
(3) The moneys so borrowed shall be repaid from revenue
by the said local authority by annual payments of not less
than two thousand one hundred and twenty-five pounds
(£2,125).
(4) No moneys shall be borrowed under this authority
after the expiration of two years from the date hereof.

Consenting to the Raising of a Loan of £20,000 by the
Wanganui-Rangitikei Electric-power Board and prescribing
the Conditions thereof.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 30th day of
June, 1937.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the Wanganui-Rangitikei Electric-power
Board (hereinafter called “the said local authority”),
being desirous of raising the sum of twenty thousand pounds
(£20,000) by a loan to be known as “Reticulation Extension
Loan, 1937” (hereinafter called “the said loan”), for the
purpose of further extending the reticulation within its
electric-power district, has complied with the provisions of
the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926 (hereinafter
called “the said Act”), and it is expedient that the precedent
consent of the Governor-General in Council as required by
the said Act should be given to the raising of the said loan :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion,
and in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred on him by section eleven of the said Act, as set
out in section twenty-nine of the Finance Act, 1932 (No. 2),
and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this
behalf, doth hereby consent to the raising in New Zealand
by the said local authority of the said loan for the said purpose
up to the amount of twenty thousand pounds (£20,000),
and in giving such consent doth hereby determine as follows :—
(1) The term for which the said loan or any part thereof
may be raised shall not exceed fifteen (15) years.
(2) The rate of interest that may be paid in respect of
the said loan or any part thereof shall be such as shall not
produce to the lender or lenders a rate exceeding three pounds
ten shillings (£3 10s.) per centum per annum.
(3) The said local authority shall provide for the repayment
of the said loan from revenue by the annual redemption of
debentures in the years set out in the first column of the
Schedule hereunder of the respective amounts set opposite
each year in the second column of the said Schedule.
(4) The payment of interest and the redemptions in respect
of the said loan shall be made in New Zealand.
(5) No amount payable as either interest or as a redemption
in respect of the said loan shall be paid out of loan-money.
(6) The rate payable for brokerage, underwriting, and
procuration fees in respect of the borrowing of the said loan
or any part thereof shall not in the aggregate exceed one-
half per centum of any amount raised.
(7) No moneys shall be borrowed under this consent
after the expiration of two years from the date hereof.
