ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 10th day of June, 1937.

THE HON. P. FRASER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the Public Works Act, 1928, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby authorize Norman Wells, Limited, of Mercury Bay, Garage-proprietors (hereinafter referred to as “the licensee”), to lay, construct, put up, place, and use the electric lines described in the Schedule hereto on the following conditions.

CONDITIONS.
- PURPOSES OF LINES.
THE said lines may be used for lighting, power, and heating purposes.
- LICENSE TO BE SUBJECT TO REGULATIONS.
The license hereby conferred is subject to compliance by the licensee with the Electrical Wiring Regulations, 1935, the Electrical Supply Regulations, 1935, and with all regulations made or to be made in amplification or amendment thereof or in substitution therefor. The conditions directed to be implied in all licenses by the Electrical Supply Regulations, 1935, shall be incorporated herein and form part of this license except in so far as the same may be inconsistent with the provisions hereof.
- SYSTEM OF SUPPLY.
The system of supply shall be low-pressure direct current, pursuant to paragraph (j) of clause 21–01 of the Electrical Supply Regulations, 1935.
- GENERATING VOLTAGE.
Electrical energy shall be generated and transmitted at a pressure of 110 volts direct current between terminals.
- DURATION OF LICENSE.
Unless sooner lawfully determined, this license shall continue in force until the 31st day of March, 1958, or until electrical energy is available from an Electric-power Board or other general public source, whichever is the earlier.
- RESTRICTIONS UPON USE OF ENERGY.
The licensee may at his discretion supply electrical energy for such limited range of purposes as may be agreed upon with the consumer concerned having regard to the electrical energy available, and may restrict consumption by limiting the wattage of lamps or other appliances; provided that in the case of lamps, the wattage shall not be limited to less than 40 watts.
- CHARGES ON SALE.
(1) The licensee is authorized to charge for electrical energy distributed under the authority of this license—
(a) In respect of each house or shop supplied, a sum not exceeding £1 per month;
(b) In respect of each shop with living quarters attached, a sum not exceeding £1 10s. per month;
(c) In respect of other consumers, such sum as may be agreed upon;
provided that in the event of larger or other generators being installed the maximum charge shall not exceed the sum of 1s. per unit for lighting purposes, and 6d. per unit for other purposes.
Intervals of Payments.
(2) Payment shall not be demanded from any consumer at intervals apart of less than twenty-one days.

SCHEDULE.
LINES adapted for supply as prescribed in these presents for the transmission of electrical energy within and about that portion of the County of Coromandel known as the Township of Whitianga, within a radius of half a mile of the centre of the intersection of Coghill and Albert Streets, Whitianga; the electric lines at present proposed to be erected being more particularly delineated by red lines on the plan marked P.W.D. 95499, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.

Authorizing Bruce Bay Timbers, Limited, of Westland, to erect and use certain Electric Lines in the County of Westland.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the Public Works Act, 1928, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby authorize Bruce Bay Timbers, Limited, being a company duly incorporated under the Companies Act, 1933, and having its registered office at Hokitika (hereinafter referred to as “the licensee”), to lay, construct, put up, place, and use electric lines described in the Schedule hereto on the following conditions.

THE said lines may be used for lighting, power, and heating purposes.
- LICENSE TO BE SUBJECT TO REGULATIONS.

Unless sooner determined, this license shall continue in force until the 31st day of March, 1956, or until electrical energy is available from an Electric-power Board or other general public source, whichever is the earlier.

SCHEDULE.
LINES adapted for supply as prescribed in these presents for the transmission of electricity leading from the main transmission-line—
(a) At a point in Section 781 (N.R.), and thence across the said Section 781 (N.R.), the Makatata Stream, and Section 2444, being a distance of approximately 40 chains, to the company’s log-hauler on the last-mentioned section, all being situated in Block XIV:
(b) At the mill-site on Section 3686, Weldtown, and thence in a northerly direction generally across the said Section 3686, Section 776 (N.R.), and along the coast-line to the company’s loading-bank on Weldtown Reserve 420, being a distance of approximately 76½ chains, all being situated in Block IX:
(c) At a point opposite Section 776 (N.R.), westerly for a distance of approximately 4 chains to the cottages on the said Section 776 (N.R.), Block IX:
(d) To any point within the confines of the area over which the company has at the present time sole cutting-rights.
Notwithstanding any provisions to the contrary elsewhere contained, no such electric lines may be erected within twenty chains of any telephone line save with the prior consent in writing of the Chief Electrical Engineer of the Public Works Department.
All being situated in the Bruce Bay Survey District, in the Land District of Westland; the electric lines at present proposed to be erected being more particularly delineated by means of green lines on plan P.W.D. 94770, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.
