DR. MCBRIDE MANUFACTURING COMPANY, LIMITED.

IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION.

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1933, and in the matter of Dr. McBride Manufacturing Company, Limited.

NOTICE is hereby given that at a meeting of the above-named company held at the registered office, 143 Hereford Street, Christchurch, on Monday, the 17th May, 1937, the following extraordinary resolution was passed:—

“ That as it is proved to the satisfaction of the company that it cannot by reason of its liabilities continue its business and that it is advisable to wind up it is hereby resolved that the company be wound up voluntarily, and that Garnet Thomas Bullock, of Christchurch, Public Accountant, be and is hereby appointed liquidator for the purposes of such winding up.”

All persons or companies having claims against the above-named company are required to send full particulars thereof to the undersigned on or before the 30th day of June, 1937, otherwise they may be excluded from participation in any distribution of assets.

CHRISTCHURCH TRAMWAY BOARD.

DEVELOPMENT AND IMPROVEMENT LOAN, £20,000, 1937.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 9 of the Christchurch Tramway District Amendment Act, 1921, the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and the Christchurch Tramway District Amendment Act, 1927, and all other powers it enabling, the Christchurch Tramway Board hereby resolves by way of special order as follows:—

“ That the said Board authorizes the raising of a loan of £20,000 for the purposes of carrying out permanent-way renewal work in Linwood, Cathedral Square, and Riccarton, renewal of overhead feeder cables, and the purchase of buses, under the following conditions:—

“ That the rate of interest payable in respect of the said loan shall not exceed three pounds ten shillings (£3 10s.) per centum per annum, and shall be paid in New Zealand.

“ That the said sum of £20,000 shall be repayable in New Zealand on the 30th day of June, 1950.

“ That provision for the repayment thereof be made by establishing a sinking fund of six pounds four shillings (£6 4s.) per centum per annum, calculated on the amount borrowed.

“ That no portion of interest or sinking fund shall be paid out of the loan-money.

“ That the security for the said loan shall be a special rate to provide interest and sinking fund thereon.

“ That for the purpose of providing the interest and sinking fund on the said loan of £20,000, the Christchurch Tramway Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of decimal nought one three three five three six pence in the £1 (0·0133536d.) upon the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property of the Christchurch Tramway District, comprising the whole of the said district the boundaries of which are defined in the Schedule to the Christchurch Tramway District Act, 1920, as amended by subsection (3) of section 9 of the Christchurch Tramway District Amendment Act, 1932–33; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 30th day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirteen years or until the loan is fully paid off.

“ That it is hereby directed that the said rate be levied and collected by the Christchurch City Council, the New Brighton, Sumner, and Riccarton Borough Councils, and the Waimairi, Paparua, Heathcote, and Halswell County Councils, respectively, within their respective districts.”

The Christchurch Tramway Board, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Christchurch Tramway District Act, 1920, and all other powers it enabling, hereby further resolves by way of special order—

“ That until further resolution of the Board the interest and sinking fund on the said Development and Improvement Loan of £20,000 be paid out of the Board’s General Fund.”

The above special order was made on the 1st day of May, 1937, and confirmed on the 29th day of May, 1937.

MASTERTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Masterton Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

“ That, for the purposes of providing for the payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Masterton Borough Ruamahanga River Bridge Contribution Loan of £800, 1937, authorized to be raised by the Masterton Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of paying the Council’s proportion of the cost of constructing a bridge over the Ruamahanga River at Opaki, on the Opaki–Mauriceville Road, together with the approaches thereto, the said council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-fiftieth of a penny (1/50d.) in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Borough of Masterton, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable in the month of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years or until the loan is fully paid off.”

I hereby certify that the above is a true copy of a resolution passed at a duly constituted meeting of the Masterton Borough Council held on the 25th day of May, 1937.

RADDONS LIMITED.

IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION.

NOTICE is hereby given that by an entry in its minute-book signed by all the shareholders of Raddons Limited on the 1st day of June, 1937, the following special resolution was duly passed:—

“ Resolved as a special resolution that the company be wound up voluntarily, and that O. M. MILLER, of Christchurch, Public Accountant, be and is hereby appointed liquidator.”

RADDONS LIMITED.

IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION.

NOTICE is hereby given that by an entry in its minute-book Raddons Limited on the 1st day of June, 1937, passed a special resolution for voluntary winding up; and that a meeting of the creditors of Raddons Limited will be held pursuant to section 234 of the Companies Act, 1933, at Room 414, Commerce Building, Hereford Street, Christchurch, on Friday, the 11th day of June, 1937, at 4 o’clock in the afternoon, at which meeting a full statement of the position of the company’s affairs, together with a list of the creditors and the estimated amount of their claims, will be laid before the meeting, and at which meeting the creditors, in pursuance of section 235 of the said Act, may nominate a person to be the liquidator of the company, and, in pursuance of section 236 of the said Act, may appoint a committee of inspection.

I, ERIC CHARLES KINGSTON-SMITH, of Wellington, Newspaper Executive, hereby give notice that by deed poll executed by me on the fourth day of May, 1937, and enrolled in the Registry of the Supreme Court of New Zealand at Wellington, I assumed and intend thenceforth upon all occasions whatsoever to use and subscribe the christian names and surname “ ERIC CHARLES KINGSTON-SMITH ” in lieu of the christian names and surname “ Frederic Charles Smith,” and to be at all times thereafter known and described by the christian names and surname “ Eric Charles Kingston-Smith ” in lieu of the christian names and surname of “ Frederic Charles Smith.”
