The Sharebrokers Act, 1908.-Amendments to Rules of the Stock Exchange Association of New Zealand.

THE following amendments to the rules of the Stock Exchange Association of New Zealand have, as required by the provisions of section 11 of the Sharebrokers Act, 1908, as amended by section 17 (1) (d) of the Finance Act, 1931 (No. 4), been approved by His Excellency the Governor-General in Council.

STOCK EXCHANGE ASSOCIATION OF NEW ZEALAND.

Amendments and additions to rules passed at the annual general meeting of the Stock Exchange Association of New Zealand held in Wellington on 4th November, 1936.

Rule 46 : Amend to read:-

On Rights to New Issues: Unless authorized to the contrary by the Executive at the time the rights are issued the rates of brokerage shall be-

To Sellers : Rates as above on price of rights.

To Buyers : Rates as above on the price of the rights, plus the amount of calls required to convert them into transferable shares.

Rule 83 : Alter the number of days from 14 to 28.

Rule 83 (a) : Add the following :-

It shall not be incumbent upon a member to accept a marked transfer of investment shares where there are less than fourteen days in the case of transfers of shares on an Australian Register and seven days in the case of transfers of shares on a New Zealand Register before the expiry of the period for which scrip is being held in support.

Land and Income Tax (Annual) Act, 1936.

INCOME-TAX PAYABLE.

BY Order in Council, made and issued by His Excellency the Governor-General in Council on the 9th day of October, 1936, under the authority of the above Act, it was determined that the duty by way of income-tax, leviable under section 3 of the said Act, should be paid in one sum on Monday, the 8th day of February, 1937, at the office of the Commissioner of Taxes, Government Buildings, Wellington, C. l ; and, in accordance with such Order in Council, I hereby give notice that the said duty will be payable accordingly. Additional tax will accrue if the tax is not paid on or before 1st March, 1937. The liability to pay is not suspended by any objection. The tax should be paid on or before the prescribed date, otherwise the additional percentage accrues; any overpayment will be adjusted by refund.

The demands will be posted from the office of the Commissioner of Taxes on or about 1st February, 1937. Demands must be presented with all payments, and taxpayers who expect a demand and do not receive one should notify me of the fact.

Sale of Unclaimed Property.

Police Department,

IT is hereby notified that unclaimed property in the hands of the police at the various police-stations will, if not claimed before Saturday, the 13th February, 1937, be sold thereafter by public auction.

Particulars as to the time and place of sale may be obtained from the Superintendent or Inspector of Police in charge of the district.
