COOK COUNTY COUNCIL.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.

In the matter of the Counties Act, 1920, and the Public Works Act, 1928.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Cook County Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work—namely, the acquisition of certain gravel supplies in the Waipaoa River for road construction and maintenance—and for the purposes of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken : And notice is hereby further given that plans of the lands so required to be taken are deposited in the office of the Clerk of the said Council, situated at 150 Childers Road, Gisborne, New Zealand, and are open for inspection without fee by all persons during ordinary office hours:

All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such lands who have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said lands, must state their objection in writing, and send the same, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the County Clerk at the Council Chambers.

IN LIQUIDATION.

IN compliance with section 232 of the Companies Act, 1933, a general meeting of Industrial Chemicals (N.Z.), Ltd. (in Liquidation), is called to be held at the offices of R. W. Lock, Public Accountant, 304 Dilworth Buildings, Auckland, on Saturday, Ist May, 1937, at 11.30 a.m.

THE above company by a resolution signed in its minute-book and dated 16th April, 1937, passed a liquidation resolution nominating RUPERT YOEMAN COLLINS, Public Accountant, Wellington, as liquidator.

A meeting of creditors of the above company will be held at the Conference Hall, Room 93, A.M.P. Building, Wellington, on Monday, the 26th April, 1937, at 11 a.m.

WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

The Wellington City Sewerage Loan, 1937.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, and its amendments, the Wellington City Council hereby resolves as follows:—
"That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of two hundred thousand pounds (£200,000) to be known as the Wellington City Sewerage Loan, 1937, authorized to be raised by the Wellington City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of carrying out alterations and improvements to the sewerage system, the said Wellington City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one hundred and thirty eight-hundredths of a penny (138d.) in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the City of Wellington, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the first day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten (10) years or until the loan is fully paid off."

The above resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the Wellington City Council held on the 15th day of April, 1937.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

NOTICE is hereby given that the partnership hitherto existing between VERNON CECIL HERBERT VOSE and JOHN FREDERICK RUCROFT, under the name or style of "Vose and Rucroft," has been dissolved by mutual consent as from this date. The business shall be henceforth conducted by Mr. V. C. H. Vose to whom all accounts should be paid.

NOTICE is hereby given that on the 17th day of April, 1937, the following special resolution was duly passed by an entry in the minute-book of this company signed as provided by subsection (1) of section 300 of the Companies Act, 1933 :—

  1. That the company be wound up voluntarily.
  2. That JOHN KERSHAW, of the City of Auckland, Store-keeper, be appointed liquidator by the company.

WHEREAS on the 17th day of April, 1937, the following special resolution was duly passed by an entry in the minute-book of this company, signed as provided by subsection (1) of section 300 of the Companies Act, 1933 :—

  1. That the company be wound up voluntarily.
  2. That JOHN KERSHAW, of the City of Auckland, Store-keeper, be appointed liquidator by the company.

Notice is hereby given that a meeting of the creditors of the said company will be held pursuant to section 234 of the Companies Act, 1933, at the registered office of the company at 48 Pitt Street, Auckland, on Tuesday, the 27th day of April, 1937, at 10 o'clock in the forenoon, at which a full statement of the position of the company's affairs, together with a list of the creditors and the estimated amount of their claims, will be laid before the meeting, and at which meeting the creditors in pursuance of section 235 of the said Act may nominate a person to be liquidator of the company, and in pursuance of section 236 of the said Act may appoint a committee of inspection.
