Pastoral Run in Canterbury Land District for License.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned pastoral run is open for license in terms of Part VI of the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Christchurch, up to 4 o'clock p.m. on Friday, 4th June, 1937.

Applicants should appear personally before the Land Board for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Christchurch, on Tuesday, 8th June, 1937, at 10.30 o'clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

Applicants are required to produce for inspection when examined documentary evidence of their financial position, such as bank pass-books, certificates or letters of credit from managers of banks, financial institutions, or mercantile firms, or from private persons or parents undertaking to give financial assistance. Persons undertaking to assist financially should state to what extent they are prepared to do so and supply guarantees of their own financial position.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half - year's rent, broken - period rent, license fee, and amount to cover improvement loading.

SCHEDULE.

CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.—PASTORAL RUN.
Waimate County.

RUN 250, Blocks VII, VIII; and XII, Waihao Survey District, and Blocks V and IX, Waimate Survey District : Area, 5,650 acres. Rental, £250 per annum.

Loaded with the sum of £462 (payable in cash) for improvements, comprising approximately 530 chains boundary and party-boundary fencing and 240 chains of subdivisional fencing.

The run, which is situated off the Hook School Road, lies ten miles from Waimate, six miles from Waituna School, and thirteen miles from Studholme Saleyards ; access is provided by good metalled roads, the last mile of which is unformed track up a steep spur. The run is fenced into three blocks and comprises hilly and broken country, well watered by the Hook and Waihao Rivers and by streams, and rises to an altitude of 3,562 ft. to Mount Studholme. The grazing on the Hunter side is medium to light on the top of the range, but the largest portion, on the Waihao side, is well grassed with tussock and other native grasses, lying on warm sunny faces, and provides safe grazing country in all weathers. There is no position for a homestead-site and provision for this would have to be made off the property, unless taken up by a neighbouring settler. Carrying capacity from 2,000 to 2,400 sheep.

The successful applicant will require to pay immediately the full value of the improvements (£462), a half-year's rent, broken-period rent, and £1 ls. license fee. Possession will be given immediately, and the term of the license will be twenty-one years from 1st March next following the date of approval of application and shall include the period between date of possession and 1st March next following. The license carries rights of renewal and freehold. There is a 10-per-cent. penalty on all rents unpaid after one month of due date. The incoming licensee will be expected to carry out any tree-planting on the run as laid down by the Land Board.

Education Reserves in Otago Land District for Lease by Public Auction.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned education reserves will be offered for lease by public auction at the District Lands and Survey Office, Dunedin, at 11 o'clock a.m. on Monday, 31st May, 1937, under the provisions of the Education Reserves Act, 1928, and the Public Bodies' Leases Act, 1908.

OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.
Town of Clyde.—Vincent County.
(Primary Education Reserves.)
SECTIONS 16 and 17, Block X: Area, 2 roods. Upset annual rental, 16s.

Weighted with £26 (to be paid in cash) for improvements comprising orchard and fencing.

Section 18, Block X : Area, 1 rood. Upset annual rental, 7s.

Weighted with £18 2s. 6d. (to be paid in cash) for improvements comprising orchard and fencing.

These sections are situated about a quarter of a mile from Clyde Post-office, Railway-station, and School, and comprise level land with portion of a light and gravelly nature.

Section 10, Block III : Area, 1 rood 10 perches. Upset annual rental, 15s.

Weighted with £4 10s. (to be paid in cash) for improvements comprising poultry-house and fencing.

Section is situated near the centre of the township, convenient to school and railway-station ; could be used as a garden and poultry-run.

Section 14, Block VIII : Area, 1 rood 1 perch. Upset annual rental, 10s.

Weighted with £1 10s. (to be paid in cash) for improvements comprising fencing.

The section is situated about a quarter of a mile from post-office and one mile from railway-station. Suitable for building-site or for grazing purposes.

Section 4, Block XIII : Area, 1 rood. Upset annual rental, 5s. Weighted with £1 17s. 6d. (to be paid in cash) for improvements comprising fencing.

The section is situated about one mile from school and post-office. Suitable for building-site or for grazing purposes.

A steep section, situated in Colonsay Street, close to railway-station and within half a mile of school and post-office.

Section 13, Block VII : Area, 1 rood. Upset annual rental, 15s.

Weighted with £102 10s. (to be paid in cash) for improvements comprising cottage and fencing.

Level section, situated in Whitehaven Street ; quite convenient to school, railway-station, and post-office.

Section 6, Block VIII : Area, 1 rood. Upset annual rental, 10s.

Weighted with £117 (to be paid in cash) for improvements comprising cottage and fencing.

About half of the section is level, remainder lies on a steep face ; situated in Whitehaven Street ; convenient to school, railway-station, and post-office.

Section 1, Block XII : Area, 1 rood. Upset annual rental, 15s.

Weighted with £6 12s. (to be paid in cash) for improvements comprising shed and fencing.

Section is situated on hill above town at the corner of Rea and Lancaster Streets ; convenient to school and post-office.

Section 15, Block XIII : Area, 1 rood. Upset annual rental, 10s.

A fair building-site, situated on the corner of Canna and Whitehaven Streets within easy distance of school, post-office, and railway-station.

Section 7, Block XLII ; Area, 1 rood. Upset annual rental, £15.

Weighted with £1,180 (to be paid in cash) for improvements comprising dwelling, garage, fencing, &c.

The section is situated in Ure Street close to the business area and in a warm, sheltered locality. Dwelling has every convenience and is kept in good repair.
