CROWN LANDS NOTICES.
Lands in Auckland Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.
District Lands and Survey Office,
Auckland, 24th February, 1937.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned sections are open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up to 11 o’clock a.m. on Thursday, 25th March, 1937.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, on Thursday, 1st April, 1937, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.
Applicants are required to produce for inspection when examined documentary evidence of their financial position, such as bank pass-books, certificates or letters of credit from managers of banks, financial institutions, or mercantile firms, or from private persons or parents undertaking to give financial assistance. Persons undertaking to assist financially should state to what extent they are prepared to do so and supply guarantees of their own financial position.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, lease and mortgage fees, and deposit in reduction of improvement loading.

SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LANDS.
Taumarunui County.—Ongarue Survey District.
(Exempt from payment of rent for two years.*)
SECTION 13, Block X: Area, 560 acres. Capital value, £380; half-yearly rent, £7 12s.
Weighted with £280 for improvements, comprising whare, wool-shed, clearing and grassing, subdivisional fencing, road-boundary fencing, and half-share in boundary-fencing. This sum is payable in cash, or, after payment of a deposit of £10, the balance of £270 as follows:—
(a) The sum of £135 to remain on instalment mortgage to the Lands and Survey Department, payable over a period of ten years by means of half-yearly instalments of principal and interest combined. In the case of a New Zealand discharged soldier the interest rate will be 5 per cent. and the half-yearly instalment £8 13s. 3d., and in the case of a civilian the interest rate will be 5½ per cent. and the half-yearly instalment £8 17s. 4d.
(b) The sum of £135 payable to the Lands and Survey Department over a period of twelve years by means of twenty-four half-yearly instalments of £7 12s. 4d. each.
A grazing property situated on Koromiko Road, seven miles from Waimiha Railway-station, Post-office, School, and cream-collection depot; access by metalled road. Land in front is easy to steep, at back of cleared area it is easy undulating; the area in standing bush is steep and broken. Approximately 180 acres felled and grassed (partly reverted), balance of 380 acres in natural state of standing bush. Ragwort requires attention.
- After payment of the required deposit, no rent and no mortgage-interest payments will be charged for a period of two years provided that a sum equivalent to the concessions granted is expended each year in effecting permanent improvements to the land.
_Special Condition.—_No bush to be cut or disposed of without the consent of the Land Board first being secured.

Taumarunui County.—Ongarue Survey District.

Section 1, Block X: Area, 752 acres. Capital value, £375; half-yearly rent, £7 10s.
Weighted with £777 10s. for improvements, comprising dwelling of four rooms, cottage, whare, outbuilding, cow-shed, clearing and grassing, road-boundary fencing, internal fencing, and half-share in boundary-fencing. This sum is payable in cash, or, after payment of a deposit of £17 10s., the balance of £760 over a period of fifteen years by means of thirty half-yearly instalments of £36 12s. 2d. each.
A grazing property situated on Okauaka Road, nine miles from Waimiha Post-office, Railway-station, School, and cream-collection depot; access by means of metalled road. Undulating to hilly country broken in parts, about 35 per cent. being ploughable. Approximately 40 acres n good pasture, 140 acres bush land felled and grassed (now reverted to fern), 120 acres in standing bush, balance in natural state of fern and tutu. Ragwort requires attention.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section is open for selection on optional tenures under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Gisborne, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Wednesday, 14th April, 1937.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Gisborne, on Friday, 16th April, 1937, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.
Applicants are required to produce for inspection when examined documentary evidence of their financial position, such as bank pass-books, certificates or letters of credit from managers of banks, financial institutions, or mercantile firms, or from private persons or parents undertaking to give financial assistance. ALLOTMENT 241: Area, 28 acres 2 roods 11 perches. Capital value, £28 10s. Deposit on deferred payments, £3 10s. Half-yearly instalment on deferred payments, 16s. 3d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, 11s. 5d.
A small grazing proposition situated on a by-road known as Keene’s, half a mile off main highway between Opotiki and Whakatane; access formed but not metalled. Thirteen miles from Taneatua Railway-station, seventeen miles from Opotiki, and five miles and a half from Kutarere and Waimana Schools. Undulating and broken land covered with small manuka scrub and fern. Soil of a light nature resting on pumiceous formation; poorly watered by swampy creek. Suitable only for working in conjunction with other land in the locality.

THE milling-trees on that area containing approximately 88½ acres, known as Lot 5, Block XIV, Pohui Survey District (State Forest No. 94), about forty miles from Hastings Railway-station.
