NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.

In the matter of the Wellington City Empowering and Amendment Act, 1924, and its amendments, the Public Works Act, 1928, and the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Wellington City Council proposes under the provisions of the above-named Acts and all other Acts and powers enabling it in that behalf to execute a certain public work—namely, for street purposes at Rodrigo Road in the City of Wellington—and for the purpose of such public work the land described in the First and Second Schedules hereto is required to be taken: And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Town Clerk to the said Council in the Town Hall, Cuba Street, in the said city, and is there open for inspection without fee by all persons during ordinary office hours, and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work, or the taking of such land, should if they have well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said land, set forth the same in writing and send such writing within forty days from the first publication of this notice to the Wellington City Council addressed to the Town Clerk at his said office.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

All that piece of land situate in the City of Wellington containing 0·70 perches, being part of Lot 10, D.P. 145, and part Section 5, Evans Bay District; coloured blue on the plan above mentioned.

SECOND SCHEDULE.

All that piece of land situate in the City of Wellington containing 0·64 perches, being part of Lot 1, D.P. 4593, and part Section 5, Evans Bay District; coloured red on the plan above mentioned.

CHANGE OF NAME.

I, EDGAR REDVERS LORNEY, now of New Plymouth, in the Dominion of New Zealand, but about to reside in the City of Auckland, Coal-merchant, heretofore called and known by the name of EDGAR REDVERS LOONEY, hereby give notice that on the 5th day of February, 1937, I renounced and abandoned the use of my said surname of Looney and assumed in lieu thereof the surname of Lorney: And, further, that such change of name is evidenced by a deed dated the 5th day of February, 1937, duly executed by me and attested and enrolled in the Registry of the Supreme Court of New Zealand at New Plymouth on the 9th day of February, 1937.

IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION.

NOTICE is hereby given that a general meeting of the company will be held at the office of Messrs. Thorne, Thorne, White, and Clark-Walker, 14 Wyndham Street, Auckland, on Monday, the 1st day of March, 1937, at 2.15 o’clock in the afternoon, for the purpose of having laid before such meeting the liquidator’s account showing the manner in which the winding up has been conducted and the assets of the company disposed of, and hearing any explanation the liquidator may wish to give.

Further notice is hereby given that at such meeting it is intended to propose as an extraordinary resolution that the liquidator be authorized to forthwith dispose of the books, accounts, and documents of the company by destroying the same.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

NOTICE is hereby given that the partnership heretofore subsisting between the undersigned carrying on business as Barristers and Solicitors at Endean’s Buildings, Queen Street, Auckland, under the name or style of “Holloway and Huband” has been dissolved by mutual consent as from the 1st day of January, 1937.

Mr. J. A. Holloway will continue to be associated with the business which, however, will as from the date mentioned be carried on by Mr. C. A. Huband on his own account under the present firm name of “Holloway and Huband.”

NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders of Golden Progress Quartz Mining Company, Limited, held in the Public Hall, Ranfurly, on the 5th February, 1937, it was resolved that the company be wound up voluntarily, and that ALEXANDER HECTOR MACDONALD, of Ranfurly, be appointed liquidator.
