above company, pursuant to section 251 of the Companies Act, 1908, will be held at the office of the Liquidator, Government Life Insurance Building, Queen Street, Auckland, on Friday, the 7th day of February, 1936, at 2.15 o’clock in the afternoon.

Business.—(1) To lay before shareholders an account showing the manner in which the winding-up of this company has been conducted and the assets of the company disposed of. (2) To decide by extraordinary resolution as to disposition of books, accounts, and documents of the company.

HAVELOCK NORTH TOWN BOARD.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

Redemption Loan, 1936, of £10,500.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Havelock North Town Board hereby resolves as follows :—

“ That, for the purpose of providing the principal, interest, and other charges on a loan of £10,500, authorized to be raised by the Havelock North Town Board under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose (together with accrued sinking funds) of repaying special loans of £12,000 and £7,940 heretofore raised by the said Board, the said Havelock North Town Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of twopence in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the Town District of Havelock North, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of fifteen years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

NOTICE is hereby given by the above company that a meeting of the creditors of the company will, pursuant to section 234 of the Companies Act, 1933, be held at Messrs. Harcourt’s Building (first floor), Panama Street, Wellington, on Tuesday, the 4th February, 1936, at 2.30 p.m., to consider a resolution for winding up passed by the company on the 27th day of January, 1936, and to confirm the appointment of liquidator or to nominate one or more persons as liquidators, to fix his or their remuneration, and, if thought fit, to appoint a committee of inspection ; and for other the purposes of the said section 234.

RANGIORA BOROUGH COUNCIL.

Rangiora Borough Loans Conversion Orders, 1935 (Nos. 1 and 2).

I, CHARLES WILLIAM TYLER, Mayor of the Borough of Rangiora, hereby certify—

  1. That the following resolution was duly passed at a properly convened special meeting of the Rangiora Borough Council held on the 18th day of December, 1935 :—

“ That, pursuant to Part II of the Local Authorities Interest Reduction and Loans Conversion Act, 1932–33, and the Rangiora Borough Loans Conversion Orders, 1935 (Nos. 1 and 2), as published at pages 3743 to 3755 inclusive in Supplementary Gazette No. 91 on the 6th December, 1935 (being supplementary to Gazette No. 89 of the 5th December, 1935), the Council resolves to issue new securities in conversion of the respective existing securities issued in respect of the loans set out in the respective First Schedules of each of the aforementioned Orders on the terms and conditions set out in each respective order.”

  1. That public notice of intention to confirm such resolution was advertised on the 7th day of January, 1936, in the North Canterbury Gazette, and on the 14th day of January, 1936, in the North Canterbury Gazette.

  2. That the said resolution was duly confirmed by the Rangiora Borough Council at an ordinary meeting held on the 22nd day of January, 1936.

PURSUANT to section 232 (1) of the Companies Act, 1933, notice is hereby given that a general meeting of the company will be held at 205 Ellison Chambers, Queen Street, Auckland, on Friday, 21st February, 1936, at 10 a.m., for the purpose of laying before it an account of the winding up.

CHRISTCHURCH TRAMWAY BOARD.
——
Development and Improvement Loan, £20,000, 1935.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 9 of the Christchurch Tramway District Amendment Act, 1921, the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and the Christchurch Tramway District Amendment Act, 1927, and all other powers it enabling, the Christchurch Tramway Board hereby resolves by way of special order as follows :—

First, that the said Board authorizes the raising of a loan of £20,000 for the purposes of purchasing the Inter-City Motor Service Limited North Beach business (or repaying such amount into the General Account if prior payment made); the purchase of additional buses, either diesel-engined or petrol, depot alterations, and road restoration, under the following conditions :—

Second, That the rate of interest payable in respect of the said loan shall not exceed three pounds ten shillings (£3 10s.) per centum per annum, and shall be paid in New Zealand.

Third, that the said sum of £20,000 shall be repayable in New Zealand on the 1st day of April, 1943, or such later date as amended by the Local Government Loans Board on application thereto.

Fourth, that provision for the repayment thereof be made by establishing a sinking fund of twelve pounds seventeen shillings (£12 17s.) per centum per annum, calculated on the amount borrowed, subject, however, to any amendment of the third clause hereof.

Fifth, that no portion of interest or sinking fund shall be paid out of the loan-money.

Sixth, that the security for the said loan shall be a special rate to provide interest and sinking fund thereon.

Seventh, that for the purpose of providing the interest and sinking fund on the said loan of £20,000 the Christchurch Tramway Board hereby makes and levies a special rate (subject to any amendment of the third clause hereof) of decimal nought two two five four pence in the pound (0·02254d.) upon the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property of the Christchurch Tramway District, comprising the whole of the said District, the boundaries of which are defined in the schedule to the Christchurch Tramway District Act, 1920, as amended by subsection (3) of section 9 of the Christchurch Tramway District Amendment Act, 1932–33; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of seven years or until the loan is fully paid off.

Eighth, that it is hereby directed that the said rate be levied and collected by the Christchurch City Council, the New Brighton, Sumner, and Riccarton Borough Councils, and the Waimairi, Paparua, Heathcote, and Halswell County Councils respectively within their respective districts.

The Christchurch Tramway Board, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Christchurch Tramway District Act, 1920, and all other powers it enabling, hereby further resolves by way of special order—

“ That until further resolution of the Board the interest and sinking fund on the said development and improvement loan of £20,000 be paid out of the Board’s General Fund.”

The above special order was made on 21st day of December, 1935, and confirmed the 27th day of January, 1936.
