The timber described is submitted for sale subject to the
final acceptance of the highest bid by the Commissioner of
State Forests. -
The right is reserved to the Commissioner of State
Forests to withdraw from sale any or all of the said timber
before the date of sale. -
If no bid is accepted for the timber herein mentioned
it will remain open for application at the upset price for
three months from the date of the sale.
The conditions, which will be inserted in the license to be
issued to the purchaser, and further particulars may be ob-
tained on application to the undersigned or to the Director
of Forestry, Wellington.

Notice as to an Area in Marlborough Land District declared to
be a Forest Fire District.

Wellington, 30th January, 1936.
PURSUANT to section 27 of the Forests Act, 1921-22,
I do hereby notify that, on the recommendation of the
Director of Forestry and the Land Board of the district, the
area described in the Schedule hereto is hereby declared by
me to be a fire district, and I do further specify the period
from the lst day of November in any year to the 30th day of
April in the following year, inclusive, as the period during
which it shall not be lawful for any person within the said
district, save pursuant to the written permit of a Forest
Officer, to set on fire, or cause to be set on fire, any timber
(whether standing or not), or any undergrowth, or any debris
from forest operations, or any land-clearing operations, or
grass or other specially inflammable material, without taking
such precautions as may be prescribed by a Forest Officer.
SCHEDULE.
MARLBOROUGH LAND DISTRICT.—CANTERBURY FOREST-
CONSERVATION REGION.
Mount Fyffe Fire District.
ALL that area in the Marlborough Land District, Kaikoura
County, containing approximately 13,000 acres, situated in
Blocks I, IV, XII, and XIII, Mount Fyffe Survey District,
and bounded as follows: Commencing at a point on the
eastern bank of the Kowhai River in Block XII aforesaid;
thence north-easterly by a line bearing 50° 35' 38” for 2200
links to Peg XIV in the Kowhai Saddle; thence south-
easterly to Peg 6 at the western corner of S.G.R. No. 101,
5500 links; thence easterly by a line bearing 96° for 3500
links to Long Creek, and south-easterly by that creek to the
prolongation of the north-eastern boundary of Section 2,
Block I aforesaid, and by the said boundary to a public
road; thence by the said road south-westerly to its angle in
Section 5, Block IV aforesaid, and south-easterly to the
south-eastern corner of Section 2, Block IV aforesaid; thence
south-westerly by a public road to the Kowhai River; thence
north-westerly and north-easterly by the eastern bank of the
Kowhai River to the point of commencement ; be all the
aforesaid measurements a little more or less. As the same is
more particularly delineated on plan No. 124/1, deposited in
the Head Office of the State Forest Service at Wellington,
and thereon bordered yellow.

Notice as to Areas in Auckland Land District declared to be
Forest Fire Districts.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.-- ROTORUA FOREST-CONSERVATION
REGION.
All those areas in the Auckland Land District, containing
approximately 310,000 acres, and described as follows:-
Maraetai Fire District.
All that area in the Matamata and Taupo Counties, con-
taining approximately 130,000 acres, situated in Blocks I, II,
III, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, XI, XII, XIII, XIV, XV, and
XVI, Patetere South Survey District, Blocks VIII, XII,
and XVI, Wharepapa Survey District, Blocks I, II, III, IV,
VI, VII, VIII, XI, and XII, Whakamaru Survey District,
Blocks VII and VIII, Ngautuku Survey District, and Blocks I,
II, V, VI, and IX, Te Atiamuri Survey District, and bounded
generally as follows: Commencing at the junction of the right
bank of the Waikato River with the south-western side of the
Lichfield-Atiamuri Road; thence towards the south, south-
west, and west by the right bank of the Waikato River;
towards the north and again towards the west by Matanuku
No. 2D Block; again towards the north by Matanuku No. 2c 2
Block; again towards the west by Matanuku No. 2c 2, No lb 2,
and No. la 2 Blocks to Waotu South No. 9 Block, by a right
line to a stream and by that stream to Waotu South D No. 7
Block; towards the north-east by the last-mentioned block
to and across a road; again towards the west by a road;
towards the north by Waotu South C No. 4 Block and Section 42, Selwyn Settlement; again towards the west by
Section 42 aforesaid to a point due east of Trig. Station 813
(Papatangi); again towards the north by a line running due
east along the southern boundaries of Blocks XIII and XIV,
Patetere North Survey District, to the Waioraka Stream;
towards the north-east by that stream and the Mangakaretu
Stream to the Waotu-Lichfield Road; towards the north by
the aforesaid road; towards the east by the eastern side of a
road to a point in line with the north-western boundary of
Section 43, Selwyn Settlement; towards the north-west by
a line across the road and by the north-western boundary
aforesaid; towards the east by Section 43 aforesaid and a line
being the production of the western boundary of that section
to a road; again towards the north-east by the eastern side
of the said road; again towards the north-west by part of
Tokoroa No. 1 Block; and again towards the north-east by
the Lichfield-Atiamuri Road to the place of commencement.
Tokorooa Fire District.
All that area in the Matamata, Rotorua, and Taupo
Counties, containing approximately 75,000 acres, situated
in Blocks III, IV, VIII, XII, and XVI, Patetere South
Survey District, Blocks I, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X,
XIII, and XIV, Ngautuku Survey District, Blocks II, III,
and IV, Horohoro West Survey District, Blocks IX, X,
XIII, and XIV, Horohoro Survey District, and Blocks II,
III, IV, VI, and VII, Te Atiamuri Survey District, and
bounded generally as follows: Commencing at the junction
of the right bank of the Waikato River with the south-western
side of the Lichfield-Atiamuri Road; thence towards the
south-west by the south-western side of the said road;
towards the north-west by a line across that road to the
southern corner of Section 38, Selwyn Settlement, and
by the north-western side of a road to the Whakapiwai
Stream; towards the north by the said stream to a point
in line with the eastern boundary of Te Ranga No. 1 Block;
towards the east by a right line, the eastern boundary of
Te Ranga No. 1 Block, and a production of that boundary
to the Mokaihaha Stream; again towards the north by the
Mokaihaha Stream; towards the south-east by Patetere
South Nos. 2 and 3B Blocks; towards the north-east by
Patetere South No. 3B Block to the edge of the bush; again
towards the east and north by the edge of the bush; again
towards the north-west by a provisional State forest (Gazette,
1920, page 2109); again towards the north-east and east by
public roads; again towards the north-east and north-west
by the aforesaid provisional State forest; again towards the
north-east and south-west by Rotomahana-Parekarangi
No. 1c or Horohoro Block; again towards the north-east
by a right line from Trig. Station 39 (Horohoro) to the northern
corner of Section 7, Block XIV, Horohoro Survey District;
again towards the south-east by the southern side of a road
and the Taahunaatara and Whangapoa Streams; again
towards the north-east and east by the eastern side of a road
to the right bank of the Waikato River; and again towards
the south by the right bank of that river to the place of
commencement.
Tatua Fire District.
All that area in the Taupo County, containing approxi-
mately 57,500 acres, situated in Blocks VI, VII, IX, X, XI,
XII, XIII, and XIV, Te Atiamuri Survey District, Blocks I,
