Appointments in the Public Service.

Office of the Public Service Commissioners,

THE Public Service Commissioners have made the following appointments in the Public Service :—

William Fred Cobb,

to be Registrar of Marriages for the District of Pahiatua under the Marriage Act, 1908, Registrar of Births and Deaths for the District of Pahiatua under the Births and Deaths Registration Act, 1924, Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at Pahiatua under the Maori Births and Deaths Registration Regulations dated 4th February, 1935, Registrar of Electors and Returning Officer for the Electoral District of Pahiatua for the purposes of the Electoral Act, 1927, and the Returning Officer for the Pahiatua Licensing District for the purposes of the Licensing Act, 1908, and its amendments, as from the 19th day of November, 1936.

Allison John Lambert,

to be Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at Tuparoa, as from the 23rd day of November, 1936.

William Timms,

to be Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at Omanaia, as from the 20th day of November, 1936.

Walter James Moran,

to be Registrar of Marriages and Registrar of Births and Deaths for the District of Murchison, as from the 27th day of November, 1936.

Gerald Ronald Holder,

to be Deputy Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at Whangarei, as from the 30th day of November, 1936.

Ronald Collingwood Satherley,

to be Registrar of Marriages and Registrar of Births and Deaths for the District of Pongaroa, as from the 19th day of November, 1936.

Notice as to the licensing of certain Industries under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936.

PURSUANT to the authority conferred on me by section 14 of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936, I hereby give notice that the several industries hereinafter specified may, on and after the taking effect of this notice, be carried on only pursuant to a license issued under Part III of the said Act.

With respect to any industry that is being already carried on, this notice shall take effect (in so far as it applies to any person engaged in carrying on such industry in the premises in which it is now being carried on) on the 1st day of December, 1938, or on such earlier or later date (if any) as may hereafter be specified by a further notice in relation thereto given under the section hereinbefore referred to ; in all other cases to which this notice relates it shall take effect on the date of its publication in the Gazette.

The industries to which this notice relates are the following :—

Manufacture of products consisting of a combination of asbestos and cement.
Manufacture of rubber tires and tubes for all types of vehicles.
Manufacture of electric ranges, including the assembly of parts thereof.
Importation and/or wholesale distribution of motor-spirit.
Manufacture of pumps, or the assembly of parts thereof, for the distribution of motor-spirit.
The retail sale and distribution of motor-spirit.
The business of any chemist or druggist carried on by the keeping of any open shop or place for the compounding or dispensing of prescriptions.
Manufacture of cement: Portland and other structural or building cement.
Manufacture of rennet.
Manufacture of phosphatic fertilizers.

Applications for licenses required in accordance with this notice may be made to the Secretary of the Bureau of Industry, Department of Industries and Commerce, Wellington.

Amendment of Notification pursuant to the Foreign Arbitration Rules, 1935.

Wellington, 3rd December, 1936.

NOTICE is hereby given that the first column of the Schedule to the notice published in the New Zealand Gazette on the 14th day of November, 1935, at page 3300, and referring to certain Orders in Council made on the dates specified in the third column of such Schedule, is hereby amended by deleting the words “His Majesty the King of Great Britain, Ireland, and the British Dominions beyond the Seas, Emperor of India,” where such words occur opposite the words “Netherlands Indies, Surinam, Curacao,” in the second column thereof, and inserting in their place the words “Her Majesty the Queen of the Netherlands.”
