IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION.

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1933, and in the matter of the HAWERA DISTRICT LOAN AND DISCOUNT COMPANY, LIMITED (in Voluntary Liquidation).

Pursuant to section 222 of the Companies Act, 1933, notice is hereby given that on the 17th day of December, 1935, the following resolution was passed:—

“That the company go into voluntary liquidation, and that Mr. G. H. MEULI, Company Secretary, Manaia, be and is hereby appointed liquidator for the purposes of such winding up.”

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1933, and the Rural Intermediate Credit Act, 1927; and in the matter of the WAIRARAPA CO-OPERATIVE RURAL INTERMEDIATE CREDIT ASSOCIATION, LIMITED; and in the matter of a petition for the winding up of the said association.

Notice is hereby given that a petition for the winding up of the above-named company (referred to in these proceedings as “the association”) by the Supreme Court was, on the fourth day of January, 1936, presented to the said Court by the Rural Intermediate Credit Board, a body corporate having its offices at the Public Trust Building, Lambton Quay, Wellington; and that the said petition is directed to be heard before the Court sitting at Wellington on Friday, the 31st day of January, 1936, at 10.30 o’clock in the forenoon; and any creditor or contributory of the said association desirous to support or oppose the making of an order on the said petition may appear at the time of hearing in person or by his counsel for that purpose; and a copy of the petition will be furnished to any creditor or contributory of the said association requiring the same by the undersigned on payment of the regulated charge for the same.

A BILL INTITULED “THE THOMAS GEORGE MACARTHY TRUST ACT (NO. 2), 1936.”

Notice is hereby given that the Public Trustee of the Dominion of New Zealand as executor and trustee of the will of Thomas George Macarthy (deceased) intends to present a petition to the General Assembly of New Zealand at the ensuing session for leave to introduce a Private Estate Bill, the short title of which is as above. The objects of the proposed Bill are—

(1) To prohibit the distribution of the capital of the estate of Thomas George Macarthy (deceased).

(2) To provide that the capital of the said estate shall continue to be held on trust to pay and apply the annual rents, income, and profits arising therefrom for such charitable and educational purposes or institutions in the Provincial District of Wellington in such manner and in such shares or to such extent as the Board of Governors shall from time to time direct.

(3) To empower the Board of Governors from time to time to direct that such part of the annual rents, income, and profits as the Board thinks fit shall be set aside and held by the Public Trustee as a special Building Replacement Fund.

(4) To empower the Public Trustee from time to time to apply the whole or any part of the special Building Replacement Fund to the replacement of any building or buildings owned by the estate which in the opinion of the Public Trustee should be replaced, or in effecting such improvements to buildings as cannot properly be charged to income.

Printed copies of the proposed Bill will be deposited in the Private Bill Office not later than fourteen days after the commencement of the session.

MEDICAL REGISTRATION.

I, WALLACE NEIL CAMPBELL, M.B., Ch.B., Univ. of N.Z., 1936, now residing in Wellington, hereby give notice that I intend applying on the 17th February next to have my name placed on the Medical Register of the Dominion of New Zealand; and that I have deposited the evidence of my qualification in the office of the Department of Health at Wellington.

FOXTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION LEVYING SPECIAL RATE.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by Part II of the Local Authorities Interest Reduction and Loans Conversion Act, 1932–33, and the Foxton Borough Loans Conversion Order, 1935, the Foxton Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the new securities authorized to be issued under the Foxton Borough Loans Conversion Order, 1935, in conversion of existing securities issued in respect of the loans set out in the First Schedule to that Order, and also the interest, sinking fund, and other charges in respect of the unconverted securities issued in respect of such loans, the Foxton Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one shilling and one halfpenny in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the district, and that such rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such securities and be payable on the 31st day of January in each and every year until the last maturity date of such securities, being the 31st day of January, 1966, or until such securities are fully paid off.”

Notice is hereby given that at a special meeting of the Foxton Borough Council held on Monday, 23rd December, 1935, the above resolution was confirmed.

HUTT COUNTY COUNCIL.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.

In the matter of the Counties Act, 1920, and the Public Works Act, 1928.

Notice is hereby given that the Hutt County Council proposes under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, and all other Acts and powers enabling it in that behalf, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of roads—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken: And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Hutt County Council at Bowen House, Wellington, and also in the post-office at Paraparaumu, and is there open for inspection without fee by all persons during ordinary office hours, and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution
