THE SOUTH CANTERBURY LOAN AND FINANCE COMPANY, LIMITED.

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1933, and in the matter of THE SOUTH CANTERBURY LOAN AND FINANCE COMPANY, LIMITED.

NOTICE is hereby given that the order of the Supreme Court dated the 17th day of December, 1935, confirming the reduction of the capital of the above-named company from £30,000 to £22,500, and the minute approved by the Court showing with respect to the capital of the company as altered the several particulars required by the above statute, were registered by the Registrar of Companies on the 23rd day of December, 1935. The said minute is in the words and figures following :—

“The capital of The South Canterbury Loan and Finance Company, Limited, henceforth is £22,500 divided into 30,000 shares of 15s. each instead of £30,000 divided into 30,000 shares of £1 each. At the time of registration of this minute 27,415 of the said shares have been issued, and there shall be deemed to be paid up on 1,800 of the said shares the sum of 15s. each, and on 25,615 of the said shares the sum of 5s. each. The remaining 2,585 shares are unissued.”

A. E. MILLS, LIMITED.

IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION.

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1933, and of A. E. MILLS, LIMITED.

AT a meeting of shareholders of A. E. Mills, Limited, held the 14th day of January, 1936, it was resolved as an extraordinary resolution—

“That as the company cannot by reason of its liabilities continue its business and as it is advisable to wind up the company the company be wound up voluntarily, and that Mr. JAMES WILLIAM SMEATON, of Dunedin, Public Accountant, be appointed liquidator.”

IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION.

ALL persons having any claims against the above company are required on or before the 15th day of February, 1936, to send their names and addresses and particulars of their debts or claims to Messrs. J. W. Smeaton and Co., 152 High Street, Dunedin, and if so required by notice in writing by the liquidator are personally or by their solicitors to come in and prove their said debts or claims at such time and place as shall be specified in such notice, or, in default thereof, they will be excluded from the benefit of any distribution made before such debts or claims are so lodged or proved.

LIMBRICKS LIMITED.

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1933, and in the matter of LIMBRICKS LIMITED, of Napier, Cycle-dealers (in Liquidation).

AT an extraordinary general meeting of Limbricks Limited held on the date hereunder mentioned it was resolved that the company be wound up as the said company is unable to pay its debts.

Notice is hereby given that a meeting of the creditors of the said company will be held at the offices of Messrs. Rogers, Helleur, and Le Pine, 65 Hastings Street, Napier, on Friday, the 24th instant, at 2.30 o’clock in the afternoon.

COOK COUNTY COUNCIL.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.

In the matter of the Counties Act, 1920, and the Public Works Act, 1928.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Cook County Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work—namely, the formation of a road—and for the purposes of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken :

And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the said lands so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Clerk of the said Council, situated at 150 Childers Road, Gisborne, and is open for inspection, without fee, by all persons during ordinary office hours :

All persons affected by the said public work or the taking of such land who have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or the taking of the said lands must state their objections in writing, and send the same within forty days from the first publication of this notice to the County Clerk, at the Council Chambers (18th February, 1936).

SCHEDULE.

Approximate area of land required to be taken : 2 roods 17·7 perches.

Being portion of Section 133 ; coloured pink.

Situated in Block VII, Patutahi Survey District, in the Registration District of Gisborne, and the County of Cook (Plan 1477, brown).

PRIVATE ESTATE BILL.

A PRIVATE ESTATE BILL INTITULED “THE WILLIAM GEORGE DAVID BROWN TRUST ACT, 1936.”

NOTICE is hereby given that George Kinniburgh Brown, of No. 55 Glen Road, Kelburn, in the City of Wellington, as executor and trustee of the will and codicil of William George David Brown, of Wellington, Gentleman (deceased), intends to apply by petition to the General Assembly of New Zealand at its next session for the passing of a Private Estate Bill, the short title of which is as above, to effect the following objects :—

(a) To provide that the Board of Trustees referred to in paragraph 4 of the will of the said William George David Brown (deceased) shall consist of—

(i) The person from time to time holding the office of Mayor of the City of Wellington;

(ii) The person from time to time holding the office of Chairman of the Wellington Hospital Board ;

(iii) The person from time to time holding the office of trustee of the will ;

and to constitute the said Board of Trustees a body corporate with perpetual succession and a common seal.

(b) To make provision for any person temporarily acting as Mayor of the City of Wellington or Chairman of the Wellington Hospital Board to act as a member of the Board of Trustees in certain circumstances.

(c) To make provision for the representation on the Board of Trustees of any corporate trustee of the will.

(d) To make provision in the event of any member of the Board of Trustees declining to act or resigning.

(e) To validate the acts of the Board of Trustees notwithstanding any vacancies or defective appointments.

(f) To confer on the Board of Trustees constituted as provided in the Bill all the powers conferred by the will of the said William George David Brown (deceased) on the Board of Trustees constituted by the said will, and to make provision for the payment of certain moneys by the trustee of the said will and not by the Board of Trustees as provided in the said will.

(g) To make provision for the finality of the resolutions of the Board of Trustees.

Printed copies of the proposed Bill will, on or before the 28th day of February, 1936, be deposited at the office of the Examiner of Petitions for Private Bills, Parliament Buildings, Wellington.
