ELECTION OF MEMBERS OF THE PHARMACY BOARD OF NEW ZEALAND.

IN accordance with notice published on page 1903 of Gazette No. 68, 15th October, 1936, elections of eight registered pharmaceutical chemists were held on 12th November, 1936, in the Board’s office, 59 Cambridge Terrace, Wellington.

For the Central District, Colin B. McDougall and Andrew Doig each received a greater number of votes than the third candidate.

For the Auckland District, Edward Smith and Harold T. King were the only candidates nominated.

For the Canterbury District, Arthur J. Derbridge and Douglas S. Dodds were the only candidates nominated.

For the Otago District, James Waters and Robert M. Wilkinson each received a greater number of votes than the third candidate.

The above-named registered pharmaceutical chemists are therefore declared to be elected members of the Pharmacy Board of New Zealand, to hold office for a term of two years from 1st January, 1937.

WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

The Wellington City Council Renewal Loan, 1937.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and its amendments, the Wellington City Council hereby resolves as follows :-

“ That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of one hundred and ninety-four thousand pounds (£194,000) to be known as the Wellington City Council Renewal Loan, 1937, authorized to be raised by the Wellington City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of repaying the Wellington City Consolidated Repayment Loan (£117,400), which matures on the 28th day of February, 1937, and the Wellington City Electric Tramways Street Paving and Town Hall Loan 1902 Repayment Loan, 1932 (£168,300), which matures on the 1st day of March, 1937, the said Wellington City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one hundred and sixty seven-hundredths of a penny (¹⁶⁷/₁₀₀d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the whole of the City of Wellington, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty (20) years from the 1st day of March, 1937, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

The above resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the Wellington City Council held on the 17th day of November, 1936.

CHANGE OF NAME OF COMPANY.

NOTICE is hereby given that City Taxis, Limited, has changed its name to White Star Taxis, Limited, and that the new name was this day entered on my Register of Companies in place of the former name.

CHANGE OF NAME.

I, WILLIAM NORMAN DUNCAN, of Wellington, Clerk, at one time known by the name of WILLIAM NORMAN KEAL, hereby give public notice that by deed-poll dated the 19th day of November, 1936, duly executed and attested and enrolled in the Registry of the Supreme Court of New Zealand at Wellington on the 24th day of November, 1936, I formally renounced and abandoned the use of my said surname of Keal and declared that I had assumed and adopted and intend thenceforth upon all occasions to use and subscribe the surname of Duncan in lieu of the said surname of Keal.

IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION.

NOTICE is hereby given that a general meeting of shareholders of the above private company (in voluntary liquidation) will be held at the office of the liquidator, Meek and Hicks, 153-5 Featherston Street, Wellington, on Wednesday, 16th December, 1936, at 2.30 p.m., for the purpose of receiving the liquidator’s account of the winding up of the company and the disposal of its assets, and for the purpose of passing an extraordinary resolution as to the custody of the books, accounts, and documents of the company.

NOTICE is hereby given that the following special resolution was duly passed by the above company on the 20th day of November, 1936 :-

  1. This company’s undertaking having been sold to Radio (1936) Limited, and the necessary declaration of solvency having been duly made and filed, this company shall be wound up voluntarily.

  2. Mr. JAMES REUBEN CAMPBELL, of Auckland, Accountant, shall be and he is hereby appointed liquidator for the purposes of such winding up.
