APPLICATION FOR LICENSE FOR A WATER-RACE.

To the Warden of the Otago Mining District, at Gore.

PURSUANT to the Mining Act, 1926, the undersigned Robert Kirk, of Tapanui, Farmer, hereby applies for a license for a water-race, as specified in the Schedule hereto, the course whereof has been duly marked out for the purpose.

Precise time of marking out privilege applied for : 11.30 a.m., 9/10/36.
Date and number of miner’s right : 9/10/36 ; No. 68523.
Address for service : The office of L. J. O. Arthur, Solicitor, Heriot.
Dated at Heriot, this 9th day of October, 1936.

SCHEDULE.

Locality of the race, and of its starting and terminal points : Commencing at a point in Brandy Creek in Section 16, Block VI, Glenkenich District, near the boundary between Section 16 and Section 15 of the same block ; thence by a pipeline through said Sections 16 and 15 for a distance of 75 yards ; thence through Section 14 of the same block for a distance of 14 chains, terminating at applicant’s homestead.
Description of land : Sections 16 and 14 are freehold and Section 15 is unalienated Crown land.
Length and intended course of race : 388 yards, westerly.
Points of intake : One, at head.
Estimated time and cost of construction : One week ; £50.
Mean depth and breadth : 18 in. by 12 in., together with a strip of land 20 ft. wide along the entire course of the race for the purposes of construction, maintenance, and improvement of the race and the deposit of soil and other matter removed therefrom.
Number of heads to be diverted : Three.
Purpose for which water is to be used : Domestic and irrigation.
Proposed term of license : Twenty-one years.

STATUTORY REGULATIONS.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT OF IMPROVED SERVICE.

UNDER the Regulations Act, 1936, statutory regulations of general legislative force are no longer to be published in the New Zealand Gazette.
On and after the 1st August, 1936, regulations will be supplied under any one or more of the following arrangements :—
(1) All regulations serially as issued (punched for filing), subscription 30s. per annum in advance.
(2) Annual volume (including index) bound in buckram, 25s.
(3) Serially as issued and annual bound volume, as in (1) and (2) above, on combined subscription basis, 42s. per annum in advance.
(4) Separate regulations as issued.
(5) Loose-leaf binder for filing serial issues, 6s. 6d.
The first subscription period will include the rest of 1936 and the whole of 1937.
The price of each regulation will be printed thereon facilitating the purchase of extra copies.
Orders on the subscription basis should be placed now with the Government Printer, Wellington, or at the Chief Post Offices at Auckland, Christchurch, or Dunedin.
