Classification of Roads in Wairewa County.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on me by the Transport Department Act, 1929, and the Heavy Motor-vehicle Regulations, 1932, I, Robert Semple, Minister of Transport, do hereby revoke that portion of the Warrant classifying a road in Wairewa County, dated the 31st day of October, 1928, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 82 of the 1st day of November, 1928, and do hereby declare that the roads described in the Schedule hereto and situated in the Wairewa County shall belong to the respective classes of roads shown in the said Schedule.

SCHEDULE.

WAIREWA COUNTY.

ROADS classified in Class Three: Available for the use thereon of any heavy motor-vehicle (other than a multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle) which, with the load it is carrying, weighs not more than 6½ tons, or any multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle which, with the load it is carrying, weighs not more than 10 tons:—

Christchurch–Akaroa Main Highway No. 109 (all that portion within Wairewa County).
Christchurch–Motukarara via Sumner and Lyttelton Main Highway No. 110 (all that portion within Wairewa County).
Port Levy–Little River Main Highway No. 198 (that portion within Wairewa County from its junction with Upper Western Valley Road to its junction with Christchurch–Akaroa Main Highway at Little River).
Little River–Te Oka Main Highway No. 636.

Road classified in Class Four: Available for the use thereon of any heavy motor-vehicle (other than a multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle) which, with the load it is carrying, weighs not more than 4½ tons, or any multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle which, with the load it is carrying, weighs not more than 6½ tons:—

Port Levy–Little River Main Highway No. 198 (that portion within Wairewa County from the Mount Herbert County Boundary to its junction with Upper Western Valley Road).

Approval of a Testing Officer under the Motor-drivers’ Regulations, 1931.

IN terms of Regulation 5 of the Motor-drivers’ Regulations, 1931, I, Robert Semple, Minister of Transport, do hereby approve until further notice of the person named in Column 2 of the Schedule hereunder being Testing Officer under the said regulations for the local authority specified in Column 1 of the said Schedule.

Date of Election by Fire-insurance Companies to fill Extraordinary Vacancy on the Cambridge Fire Board.

Wellington, 27th October, 1936.

PURSUANT to the Fire Brigades Act, 1926, and the rules made thereunder, I, William Edward Parry, being the Minister charged with the administration of the said Act, do hereby appoint Friday, the 13th November, 1936, to be the date of holding the election of one member of the Cambridge Fire Board by the fire-insurance companies concerned, such election being held to fill the extraordinary vacancy caused by the resignation of Mr. L. C. Robinson.

Notice respecting Proposed Alteration of Boundaries, Steward Settlement Water-race District.

Wellington, 28th October, 1936.

IT is hereby notified that a petition has been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General, under the Land Drainage Act, 1908, and amendments, praying that the area described in the Schedule hereto may be included in the Steward Settlement Water-race District.

All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the proposed alteration of boundaries which they desire to lodge within one month from the first publication of this notice, such objections or petitions to be addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.

AREA PROPOSED TO BE INCLUDED IN THE STEWARD SETTLEMENT WATER-RACE DISTRICT.

ALL that area in the Otago Land District, containing by admeasurement 52 acres 1 rood 35 perches, more or less, and being Section 25, Block VIII, Papakaio Survey District: Bounded towards the north by Section 55A, Steward Settlement, 3378·1 links; towards the south-east by main highway, 2020 links; towards the south by a public road, 2457 links; and towards the west by a public road, 1800 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.

Election of Member of Canterbury Land Board.

District Lands and Survey Office,
Christchurch, 20th October, 1936.

I, LEO JOHN POFF, Returning Officer for the election of a member of the Canterbury Land Board, do hereby notify in accordance with the provisions of section 47 of the Land Act, 1924, and the regulations made thereunder, that the only person nominated for the vacancy occurring on the said Board was

David Campbell Kidd, Esquire, of Burkes Pass, Fairlie.

I do therefore declare that the said David Campbell Kidd is duly elected a member of the Canterbury Land Board for a term of two years as from the 12th day of December, 1936.

Notice that Land is vested in the Public Trustee pursuant to Part II of the Public Trust Office Act, 1908.

WHEREAS by notice published in the New Zealand Gazette on the 2nd day of April, 1936, and in the Hokitika Guardian on the 16th day of April, 1936, the 24th day of April, 1936, and the 2nd day of May, 1936, the Public Trustee did call upon the owner of that parcel of land containing 20 perches, more or less, situated in the Town of Okarito, and which said piece of land is Section numbered 22 and being all the land comprised in Certificate of Title, Vol. 2, folio 326 (Westland Registry), in the name of Edward Fawconer Tizard, of Okarito, Gentleman, within six months of the date of publication of the said notice in the New Zealand Gazette to establish his title to the said land to the satisfaction of the Public Trustee, and stated in such notice that if the said owner did not do so the Public Trustee would exercise with regard to the said land all the powers and authorities granted to the Public Trustee in and by the Public Trust Office Act, 1908 (Part II), and its amendments: And whereas the owner of the said land has not established his title thereto: And whereas the value of the said land is less than £500: Now, the Public Trustee gives notice pursuant to the provisions of section 67 (d) of the Public Trust Office Act, 1908, as amended by the provisions of section 38 of the Public Trust Office Amendment Act, 1921–22, that the said land is vested in the Public Trustee and will be administered under the provisions of the Public Trust Office Act, 1908 (Part II), and its amendments.
