LICENSE SUBJECT TO REGULATIONS.
This license is issued under the Water-power Regulations, 1934, and is subject thereto and to the Electrical Supply Regulations, 1935, and the Electrical Wiring Regulations, 1935, and to any regulations made or to be made in amplification or amendment thereof or in substitution therefor. -
UTILIZATION OF WATER AND LOCATION OF HEADWORKS.
Water shall be used under this license solely for the purpose of generating electricity, and shall be taken from the stream at the point in Section 7, Block X, Waipu Survey District, indicated on the plan marked P.W.D. 93529, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works. -
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORKS.
The licensee is hereby authorized, subject to the conditions hereof, to construct, maintain, and use the following works for the purposes of this license, the positions of the said works being indicated on the said plan P.W.D. 93529 :—
(a) Headworks consisting of a dam and intake and water-race and pipe-lines leading to the water-wheel and power-house hereinafter referred to giving a static head of approximately 70 ft.
(b) Tail-race leading from the said water-wheel to the said stream.
(c) A power-house situated on Section 7, Block X, Waipu Survey District, with all necessary equipment, including water-turbines, generators, transformers, lightning-arresters, switchboards, switches, exciters, and other appliances for generating electricity.
(d) Electric lines from the power-house aforesaid leading across Section 7 and a public road to the licensee’s premises on Section 350, Block XI, Waipu Survey District, in the Land District of North Auckland, and shown by means of dotted lines on the said plan. -
DURATION OF LICENSE.
Unless sooner determined, this license shall continue in force until the 31st day of March, 1957. -
SYSTEM OF SUPPLY.
The system of supply shall be as described in paragraph (d) of clause 21-01 of the Electrical Supply Regulations, 1935. The generating and transmission voltages shall be approximately 230 volts alternating current. -
RENTAL.
For the purpose of assessing the annual rental payable in respect of this license, the licensee may install a suitable maximum-demand indicator to the satisfaction of the Inspecting Engineer of the Public Works Department, and, failing such installation, the rental shall be assessed on the maximum generating capacity of the plant installed. The present plant is rated at 0·46 kilowatts, and falls within the classes described in paragraph (b) of clause (2) of Regulation 6 of the Water-power Regulations, 1934.

Authorizing Joseph Stanley Bailey, Farmer, of Tutaki, to use Water for the Purpose of generating Electricity and to erect certain Electric Lines.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 28th day of October, 1936.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
P URSUANT to the Public Works Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby grant to Joseph Stanley Bailey, of Tutaki, Farmer (hereinafter referred to as “the licensee”), a license subject to the conditions hereinafter set forth to obstruct, impound, or divert the waters of the Mangles River in Lot 2 of Section 9, Block IV, Tutaki Survey District, in the Land District of Nelson, and to take and use therefrom for the purposes hereinafter set forth a stream of water not exceeding 5·5 cubic feet per second at any one time, and to erect the electric lines hereinafter described.
CONDITIONS.

IMPLIED CONDITIONS.
The conditions directed to be implied in all licenses by the Water-power Regulations, 1934, and the Electrical Supply Regulations, 1935, shall be incorporated in and shall form part of this license, except in so far as the same may be inconsistent with the provisions hereof. -

This license is issued under the Water-power Regulations, 1934, and is subject thereto and to the Electrical Supply Regulations, 1935, and the Electrical Wiring Regulations, 1935, and to any regulations made in amplification or amendment thereof or in substitution therefor. -

The licensee is hereby authorized, subject to the conditions hereof, to construct, maintain, and use the following works for the purposes of this license, the positions of the said works being indicated on the said plan P.W.D. 92272 :—
(a) Headworks consisting of a dam and intake giving a static head of approximately 40 ft.
(b) Head-race and pipe-line from such headworks to the power-house hereinafter described.
(c) Power-house with all necessary equipment, including water-turbines, generators, transformers, lightning-arresters, switchboards, switches, exciters, and other appliances for generating electricity.
(d) Electric lines leading from the homestead on Lot 2 of Section 9 across the Mangles River to the power-house on Lot 2 of Section 9, all being situated in Block IV, Tutaki Survey District. -
DURATION OF LICENSE.
This license shall, unless sooner determined, continue in force until the 31st day of March, 1957. -
SYSTEM OF SUPPLY.
The system of supply shall be as described in paragraph (d) of clause 21-01 of the Electrical Supply Regulations, 1935. The generating voltage and the transmission voltage shall be approximately 240 volts direct current. -
RENTAL.
For the purpose of assessing the rental or annual sum payable in respect of the license, the licensee may install a suitable maximum-demand indicator to the satisfaction of the Inspecting Engineer of the Public Works Department, and, failing such installation, the rental shall be determined on the maximum capacity of the generating plant installed. The present plant is rated at ten kilowatts, and falls within the classes described in paragraph (b) of clause (2) of Regulation 6 of the Water-power Regulations, 1934.
