Notice under the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, and its Amendments, prohibiting the Sale within the Borough of Inglewood of certain Goods comprised in the Trade of a Tobacconist.
——
WHEREAS a petition in writing signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the tobacconists’ shops within the Borough of Inglewood has been forwarded to me desiring that the sale of certain goods comprised in the trade of a tobacconist—namely, smoking requisites—be prohibited during such time as the said shops are required to be closed in pursuance of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22 :
And whereas I, Hubert Thomas Armstrong, Minister of Labour, am satisfied that the sale of the said goods is comprised in the said trade within the said borough, and that the signatures to such petition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the said shops within the said borough :
Now, therefore, in pursuance of section 33 of the said Act, I do hereby direct that on and after the 9th day of November, 1936, the sale of the said goods within the said borough shall be and is hereby prohibited as follows: On Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays after the hour of 6 p.m., on Wednesdays after the hour of 8.30 p.m., and on Fridays and Saturdays after the hour of 10.30 p.m., with the following exception: On the working-day first preceding any of the special days mentioned in or coming within the meaning of section 26 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, the sale of the said goods is not prohibited.

Notice under the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, and its Amendments, fixing the Closing-hours of (1) Hairdressers’ and (2) Tobacconists’ Shops within the Borough of Inglewood.

WHEREAS a requisition in writing has been forwarded to me from the occupiers of shops in each of the trades of (1) hairdresser and (2) tobacconist within the Borough of Inglewood pursuant to section 32 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22 :
And whereas I, Hubert Thomas Armstrong, Minister of Labour, am satisfied that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the shops in each of the said trades within the said borough :
Now, therefore, in pursuance of the said section 32, I do hereby direct that on and after the 9th day of November, 1936, all the shops in each of the said trades within the said borough shall be closed in the evening of working-days as follows: On Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays at 6 p.m., on Wednesdays at 8.30 p.m., and on Saturdays at 10.30 p.m., with the following exceptions: (1) On the working-day first preceding any of the special days mentioned in or coming within the meaning of section 26 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, there shall be no fixed closing-hour; and (2) should the occupier of any shop affected by this notice observe, pursuant to section 14 (2) of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, Saturday as the statutory closing-day, then and in such case the closing-hour on Thursday shall be 6 p.m., and the closing-hour on Friday shall be 10.30 p.m.:
The notice dated the 1st February, 1907, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 7th February, 1907, fixing the closing-hours of all shops in the Borough of Inglewood is hereby superseded in so far as it relates to the shops affected by this notice as from the date of the coming into operation of this notice.

Notice under the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, and its Amendments, fixing the Closing-hours of Grocers’ Shops within the Borough of Oamaru.

WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the grocers’ shops within the Borough of Oamaru, has been forwarded to me desiring that all such shops within the said borough be closed in the evening of working-days as follows: On Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 5 p.m., and on Fridays at 8 p.m.:
And whereas I, Hubert Thomas Armstrong, Minister of Labour, am satisfied that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the said shops within the said borough :
Now, therefore, in pursuance of section 32 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, I do hereby direct that on and after the 9th day of November, 1936, all the said shops within the said borough shall be closed accordingly:
The notice gazetted on the 10th day of November, 1921, fixing the closing-hours of grocers’ shops within the Borough of Oamaru is hereby cancelled as from the date of the coming into operation of this notice.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Block VI, Kumeu Survey District, for the Purposes of a Road.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a road—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken: And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Reweti, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.

Situated in Block VI, Kumeu Survey District.
In the North Auckland Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 93870, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.
