IN pursuance of section 2 of the Child Welfare Act, 1925, I, Peter Fraser, Minister of Education, do hereby appoint the following persons as Honorary Child Welfare Officers for the purposes of the said Act for the period ending 31st December, 1936 :—

Lieutenant Karl Henry John Lynch Phibbs, Royal Navy, to H.M.S. “Philomel,” additional, for H.M.S. “Wakakura,” in command, and as Officer Instructor of Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve Divisions, to date 11th September, 1936.

Gunner (T) Dudley Eric Wright, Royal Navy, to H.M.S. “Philomel,” additional, for H.M.S. “Wakakura,” and for instructional duties with Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve, in continuation of present appointment, to date 11th September, 1936.

Arthur Wallace Murphy,

to be Deputy Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at Kaiapoi, as from the 25th day of September, 1936.

Duncan Grant Sturge Donald,

to be Deputy Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at Kaeo, as from the 21st day of September, 1936.

Jack Reginald McGeorge,

to be an Inspector for the purposes of the Health Act, 1920, and an officer for the purposes of the Sale of Food and Drugs Act, 1908, as from the 25th day of September, 1936.

Albert Henry Walter Samuel Gibson,

to be Clerk of the Magistrates’ Court at Wairoa for the purposes of the Magistrates’ Courts Act, 1928, and Official Assignee at Wairoa for the Supreme Court District of Wellington for the purposes of the Bankruptcy Act, 1908, as from the 28th day of September, 1936.

Agreement for Grant of Pipe-line Easement in favour of James Ingram Thomason, of Egmont Village, Farmer, over Land in Egmont Survey District taken for the New Plymouth—Kaimata Main Highway assented to.

WHEREAS by a Proclamation dated the 6th day of May, 1936, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 33 of the 14th day of the same month, all those pieces of land comprising 3 roods 15·3 perches, being portions of part Section 53 (D.P. 1875), Hua and Waiwakaiho Hundred, Block X, Paritutu Survey District, and 2 acres 0 roods 2·9 perches, being portion of part Lot 205 (D.P. 1875), being part Section 62, Hua and Waiwakaiho Hundred, Block III, Egmont Survey District, were taken for the purposes of a road—viz., the Waiwakaiho Deviation of the New Plymouth—Kaimata Main Highway :
