PURSUANT to the provisions of the Marriage Act, 1908, the following names of officiating ministers within the meaning of the said Act are published for general information:—

Result of Land Surveyors’ Examination, September, 1936.

Wellington, 24th September, 1936.
AT the examination of candidates for registration as a surveyor held in September, 1936, under the Surveyors Registration Act, 1928, and conducted by the Federated Surveyors’ Boards of Australia and New Zealand, nine candidates presented themselves in New Zealand for completion, of whom three succeeded in obtaining passes, as under:—
Davies, Ray Clifin, of Auckland.
Larkin, Walter James, of Wanganui.
Longley, Arthur Godfrey, of Auckland.
Six candidates presented themselves for the full examination. In addition, four candidates presented themselves under Rule VIII (1) for partial examination.

Southland Electric-power Supply Act, 1936.—Declaration of Result of Poll of Ratepayers of the Southland Electric-power District.
I, ALFRED McCARTHY, Returning Officer for the purposes of section 6 (5) of the above Act, do hereby declare the result of the poll of ratepayers in the Southland Electric-power District on the proposal that the undertaking of the Southland Electric-power Board (together with all its assets and liabilities) be acquired by the Government of New Zealand on behalf of the Crown, which closed at 1 p.m. on Monday, the 28th day of September, 1936, to be as follows:—
(1) For the proposal that the undertaking of the Southland Electric-power Board (together with all its assets and liabilities) be acquired by the Government of New Zealand on behalf of the Crown . . . . 8,117 Votes.
(2) For the proposal that the undertaking of the Southland Electric-power Board be retained by the Board . . . . 2,807
I therefore declare the proposal that the undertaking of the Southland Electric-power Board (together with all its assets and liabilities) be acquired by the Government of New Zealand on behalf of the Crown to be carried.
