Transmitting and Receiving Officers for the Service of Notices by Telegraph.

IN pursuance of the powers conferred upon me by the Post and Telegraph Act, 1928 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), and by the regulations made on the 12th May, 1914, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 21st May, 1914, the following officers, at the addresses set against their names, are hereby appointed Transmitting and Receiving Officers for the purpose of dealing with all notices by telegraph sent under the said Act or regulations, and of signing such certificates in relation to the service of any such notices as are required or authorized to be signed or given under the said Act or the regulations aforesaid:—

Auditor under the Friendly Societies Act, 1909, licensed.

Hauraki Plains Drainage Area.—Notice of making and levying Rates.

FRANK LANGSTONE, Minister of Lands, in the exercise of powers conferred upon me by the Hauraki Plains Act, 1926, do hereby make and levy on the unimproved value of all lands within the district constituted under the said Act the general rates to meet maintenance-costs for the period 1st April, 1936, to 31st March, 1937, as described in the Schedule hereto.

The amount of such rates will be payable in one sum on the 1st October, 1936.

The rate-book of the district is open for inspection at the office of the Collector of Rates, Chief Drainage Engineer’s Office, Room 45, Government Buildings, Customs Street, Auckland, and a copy of same may be inspected at the office of the Chief Drainage Engineer at Kerepeehi at all times at which those offices are open for the transaction of public business.


SCHEDULE.

CLASS A: On the unimproved value of all lands classified as Class A by the appraiser appointed under the said Act, threepence and fourteen one-hundredths of a penny (3·14d.) in the pound.

Class B: On the unimproved value of all lands so classified as Class B, one penny and eighty-three one-hundredths of a penny (1·83d.) in the pound.

Class C: On the unimproved value of all lands so classified as Class C, forty-six one-hundredths of a penny (0·46d.) in the pound.
