NOTATION IN SHIP’S DECK LOGS OF AIRCRAFT SIGHTED.

IN order to facilitate the searching for, and, if necessary,
the rendering of assistance to aircraft in distress in the
open sea, masters of ships are requested to make an entry in
their deck log-books of every aeroplane sighted in flight in

aircraft are not usually seen. The entry should state the
time of observation and, if possible, the identification-marks
and any other details which will render identification of the
machine possible.
