Under the Mining Act, 1926.
APPLICATION FOR A LICENSE FOR A WATER-RACE.
To the Warden of the Otago Mining District, at Naseby.
PURSUANT to the Mining Act, 1926, the undersigned Rhoderic Finch, of Oamaru, Public Accountant, hereby applies for a license for a water-race, as specified in the Schedule hereto, the course whereof has been duly marked out for the purpose.

Precise time of marking out privilege applied for: Noon, 11/8/36.
Date and number of miner’s right: 25/5/36; No. 62028, Oamaru.
Address for service: The Homestead, “Glenrowan,” Kyeburn.
Dated at Oamaru, this 28th day of August, 1936.
SCHEDULE.
Locality of the race, and of its starting and terminal points; also description of land traversed—e.g., unalienated Crown land, private land, or otherwise: Swinburn Survey District, starting in Section 14, Block II; running thence generally in a westerly and south-westerly direction 110 chains through Sections 14 and 13, Block II, and Section 22, Block I, to the public road to a point where the south-eastern corner of Section 23 abuts on the said public road; thence in a south-westerly direction 25 chains through Sections 21 and 20, Block I. Private land.
Length and intended course of race: 135 chains westerly and south-westerly.
Points of intake: On north bank of Boundary Creek distant 1 chain 24 feet from the northern boundary of said Section 14 and distant 7 chains 57 feet from eastern boundary of said Section 14.
Estimated time and cost of construction: Already constructed; cost £100.
Mean depth and breadth: 1 ft. by 2 ft.
Number of heads to be diverted: Four heads.
Purpose for which water is to be used: Domestic purposes, watering stock, and irrigation.
Proposed term of license: Forty-two years.

Time and place appointed for the hearing of the application and all objections thereto: Monday, 5th October, 1936, at 2 p.m. at Warden’s Court, Naseby.
Objections must be filed in the Registrar’s office and notified to applicant at least three days before the time so appointed.

BIRKENHEAD BOROUGH COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Birkenhead Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—
“That, for the purpose of providing interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of £28,000 authorized to be raised by the Birkenhead Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of providing sewer drainage in portion of the borough and for advances in certain cases to owners of premises in respect of cost of drainage connections, the said Birkenhead Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 2·8d. in the pound upon the rateable (unimproved) value of all rateable property included in the special roll of ratepayers for the sewerage special-rating area, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the first day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty years or until the loan is fully paid off.”
I hereby certify that the above resolution was passed at an ordinary meeting of the Birkenhead Borough Council held on Wednesday, the 15th day of July, 1936.

NOTICE is hereby given that a final meeting of the creditors and shareholders of the Moonlight Extended Gold Sluicing Co., Ltd., will be held at the offices of Messrs. Chambers, Worth, and Chambers, Grey Buildings, Courthouse Lane, Auckland, on Wednesday, 30th September, 1936, at 10 a.m.

NOTICE is hereby given that a meeting of the Hamilton Co-operative Pure Milk Supply Company, Limited, will be held on Tuesday, the 29th day of September, 1936, at which a resolution for voluntary winding up is to be proposed: And that a meeting of the creditors of the said company will be held pursuant to section 234 of the Companies Act, 1933, at the Newstead Hall on Tuesday, the 29th day of September, 1936, at 7.30 o’clock in the evening, at which meeting a full statement of the position of the company’s affairs, together with a list of the creditors and the estimated amount of their claims, will be laid before the meeting, and at which meeting the creditors, in pursuance of section 235 of the said Act, may nominate a person to be the liquidator of the company, and in pursuance of section 236 of the said Act may appoint a committee of inspection.

NOTICE is hereby given that I the undersigned GORDON BOOTH MULLINS, of Otahuhu, in the Provincial District of Auckland and Dominion of New Zealand, Labourer (heretofore or sometime known and whose certificate of birth is registered as Harold Brooks), being a British subject, have by deed-poll dated the 8th day of September, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-six, and enrolled in the Supreme Court Office at Auckland, renounced and abandoned my name of Harold Brooks and assigned and adopted the name of Gordon Booth Mullins for all purposes whatsoever.

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1933, and in the matter of THE MANAKAU CO-OPERATIVE DAIRY COMPANY, LIMITED.
NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general meeting of the above-named company duly convened and held on the 8th day of September, 1936, the following special resolutions were passed for the purpose of carrying out the reconstruction proposals of the executive commission of agriculture:—
(a) That the company go into voluntary liquidation.
(b) That for the purpose of carrying out such liquidation W. E. RENDALL, of Palmerston North, be appointed liquidator.
