High Commissioner for New Zealand appointed.

to be the High Commissioner for New Zealand in the United Kingdom under and for the purposes of the High Commissioner Act, 1908, to hold the said office as on and from the 1st day of September, 1936, to the 31st day of August, 1939.

Appointments, Promotions, Transfers, Resignations, and Retirements of Officers of the N.Z. Military Forces.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the following appointments, promotions, transfers, resignations, and retirements of officers of the New Zealand Military Forces:—

STAFF.

Captain G. Dittmer, M.B.E., M.C., N.Z. Staff Corps, relinquishes the appointments of Adjutant, 1st Battalion, The Auckland Regiment (Countess of Ranfurly’s Own), and Area Officer, Area 1B, dated 19th December, 1935, and on return to New Zealand from liaison duties in Australia, is attached to Headquarters, Northern Command, Auckland, dated 7th May, 1936.

Captain W. Murphy, M.C., N.Z. Staff Corps, relinquishes the appointments of Adjutant, 1st Field Company, Corps of N.Z. Engineers and Northern Depot, N.Z. Corps of Signals, dated 19th December, 1935, and is appointed Adjutant, 1st Battalion, The Auckland Regiment (Countess of Ranfurly’s Own), and Area Officer, Area 1B, Auckland, dated 20th December, 1935.

Lieutenant J. Vincent, D.C.M., M.M., N.Z. Staff Corps, relinquishes the appointment of Adjutant, 3rd Field Company, Corps of N.Z. Engineers. Dated 27th November, 1935.

Lieutenant (on probation) G. P. Sanders, A.M.I.C.E., N.Z. Staff Corps, is appointed Adjutant, 1st Field Company, Corps of N.Z. Engineers. Dated 20th December, 1935.

Lieutenant (on probation) J. B. White, B.E., M.Sc., A.M.I.C.E., N.Z. Staff Corps, is appointed Adjutant, 3rd Field Company, Corps of N.Z. Engineers. Dated 28th November, 1935.

Lieutenant (on probation) E. J. Horwood, M.Sc., N.Z. Staff Corps, is appointed Adjutant, Northern Depot, N.Z. Corps of Signals. Dated 20th February, 1936.

THE WAIKATO MOUNTED RIFLES.

The undermentioned officers are transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 4. Dated 12th August, 1936:—

Lieutenant C. G. Thompson.

THE NORTH AUCKLAND REGIMENT.

James Thomas Shaw (late Lieutenant, The Wellington West Coast Regiment) to be Lieutenant, and is posted to the 1st Cadet Battalion. Dated 1st July, 1936.

THE WELLINGTON REGIMENT.

Lieutenant W. H. Roberts, 1st Battalion, is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 5. Dated 12th August, 1936.

Lieutenant A. N. B. McAloon, 1st Cadet Battalion, is retired. Dated 10th August, 1936.

THE WELLINGTON WEST COAST REGIMENT.

2nd Lieutenant A. C. Espiner, 2nd Cadet Battalion, to be Lieutenant. Dated 30th June, 1936.

2nd Lieutenant W. A. O’N. Canavan ceases to be posted to the 1st Cadet Battalion and is posted to the 2nd Cadet Battalion. Dated 17th August, 1936.

THE CANTERBURY REGIMENT.

Captain W. Crawford, 3rd Cadet Battalion, is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 10. Dated 19th August, 1936.
