Lands permanently reserved.
GALWAY, Governor-General.
WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-fifty-ninth section of the Land Act, 1924, it is enacted that the Governor-General may from time to time set apart temporarily as reserves, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:
And whereas by the three-hundred-and-sixtieth section of the said Act it is provided that land temporarily reserved under the said three-hundred-and-fifty-ninth section may, at the expiration of one month but not later than six months after the publication in the Gazette of notice of such temporary reservation, be permanently reserved, and that notice of such permanent reservation shall be published in the Gazette:
And whereas the lands specified in the first column of the Schedule hereto were, by the Warrant the date of which is specified in the third column of the said Schedule, and the notification of which was published in the Gazette specified in the fourth column, temporarily reserved under the authority of the said Act for the purposes specified in the second column of the said Schedule:
Now, therefore, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby permanently reserve the lands so temporarily reserved as aforesaid, and enumerated in the first column of the Schedule hereto, for the purposes specified in the second column of the said Schedule, being the same purposes for which the said lands were so temporarily reserved as aforesaid.

Unalienated Crown Land in the Otago Mining District open for Sale.
GALWAY, Governor-General.
PURSUANT to section forty-one of the Mining Act, 1926, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the unalienated Crown land within the Otago Mining District, and described in the Schedule hereto, shall be open for sale by public auction to be held at the District Lands and Survey Office, Dunedin, at eleven o’clock a.m. on the thirteenth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-six, in the area, at the upset price, and on the terms set forth in the said Schedule.
SCHEDULE.
OTAGO MINING DISTRICT.—OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.—TOWN OF OPHIR.
SECTION 2 and part Section 1, Block II : Area, 1 rood 9 perches. Upset price, £20.
Weighted with £280 for improvements.
Description of Sections.
The property is situated in the Town of Ophir, about two miles and a half from Omakau Railway-station. The area is very suitable for residential purposes. Water is available from town supply.
Terms of Sale.
Cash : One-fifth of the purchase-money to be paid on the fall of the hammer, and the balance, with certificate-of-title fee (£1), within thirty days thereafter.
Weighting for Improvements.
The weighting for improvements on the sections, comprising a wooden dwelling (in good order) of four rooms and scullery, with electric light and hot and cold water, and detached wash-house, is payable in cash.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by the Mining Act, 1926, and of all other powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare the post-office at Howard to be a post-office at which Miners’ Rights may be issued by the Postmaster in charge of such post-office.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 28th day of August, 1936.
