In the matter of the Companies Act, 1933, and in the matter of SIGNS LIMITED (in Liquidation).

NOTICE is hereby given that by resolution dated 22nd June, 1936, it was resolved:-

"That the company cannot by reason of its liabilities continue its business and that it is advisable to wind up the same."

It was further resolved:-

"That ALBERT ITHIEL TEW be and the same is hereby appointed Liquidator for the purpose of such winding-up."

In the Supreme Court of New Zealand, Otago and Southland District (Invercargill Registry).

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1933, and in the matter of J. M. BROWN, LIMITED (in Liquidation).

NOTICE is hereby given that a petition for the winding-up of the above-named company by the Supreme Court was on the 10th day of July, 1936, presented to the said Court by the Farmers' Dairy Federation, Limited, a duly incorporated company having its registered office at Invercargill and carrying on business in New Zealand as a dairy-produce manufacturer; and that the said petition is directed to be heard before the Court sitting at Dunedin on the 27th day of July, 1936, at 10 o'clock in the forenoon; and any creditor or contributory of the said company desirous to support or oppose the making of an order on the said petition may appear at the time of hearing in person or by his counsel for that purpose; and a copy of the petition will be furnished to any creditor or contributory of the said company requiring the same by the undersigned on payment of the regulated charge for the same.

GISBORNE BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Gisborne Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:-

"That for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest and other charges on the Roebuck Road Bridge Renewal Loan, 1936, of £2,700, authorized to be raised by the Gisborne Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of redeeming the outstanding liability in respect of the Roebuck Road Bridge Loan, 1906, of £5,500, the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-sixteenth of a penny (1/16d.) in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Borough of Gisborne and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the eighth day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten (10) years, or until the loan is fully paid off."

I hereby certify that the above is a true and correct extract from the minutes of the meeting of the Gisborne Borough Council held on the 14th day of July, 1936.

WELLINGTON EDUCATION BOARD.

UNDER THE PUBLIC WORKS ACT, 1928.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Education Board of the District of Wellington requires to take the land with improvements described hereunder:-

In Wellington : Part Section 777, Town of Wellington, containing one rood, eleven and six-hundredths perches (1 rood 11.06 perches), and being the properties known as Numbers 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, and 15, Emmett Street, Wellington. This land is required for the purposes of a public work—namely, a public school within the meaning of the Education Act, 1914.

Notice is hereby given that a plan of the said land is open for inspection at the offices of Messrs. Brandon, Ward, Hislop, and Powles, Solicitors, Brandon House, Featherston Street, Wellington.

All persons affected by such taking are hereby required to set forth in writing any well-grounded objections to the execution of such work or to the taking of such land and to send such writing within forty days from the first publication of this notice to the said Board, the offices of which are situated in Mercer Street, in the City of Wellington.

NOTICE is hereby given that a special general meeting of the company will be held at the offices of Messrs. Kelly and Cullinane, Solicitors, 71 Kimbolton Road, Feilding, on Monday, the 3rd of August, 1936, at 4.30 p.m., to receive and consider the Liquidator's account of the winding-up of the company.

Arcus's office, 23 Waring Taylor Street, Wellington, on the thirtieth day of July, 1936, at 10 a.m., for the purpose of having an account laid before them showing the manner in which the winding-up has been conducted, and the properties of the company disposed of, and to hear any explanation that may be given by the Liquidator; and also to determine by extraordinary resolution the manner in which the books, accounts, and documents of the company and the Liquidator thereof shall be disposed of.
