PURSUANT to the powers vested in me by section 37
of the Rabbit Nuisance Act, 1928, I, William Lee
Martin, Minister of Agriculture, hereby appoint George
Duncan Shand, being an Inspector appointed under Part I
of the said Act, to be-
(a) A member of the Redwood Rabbit Board; and
(b) A member of the Awatere, Blue Mountain, Flaxbourne,
Marlborough Coast, Waihopai, and Wairau Rabbit
Boards, vice David Samuel Angus Weir.

Arthur Pass National Park.--Chairman of Board appointed.
WHEREAS by Order in Council dated the twelfth day
of June, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-six,
and published in Gazette of the eighteenth day of that month,
a Board was appointed to have the control and management
of the Arthur Pass National Park, in pursuance of section 73
of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act,
1928:
And whereas it is now expedient that a member of the
said Board should be appointed as the Chairman thereof:
Now, therefore, I, William Lee Martin, for and on behalf
of the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance and exercise
of the powers conferred by section 75 of the said Act, do
hereby appoint the Commissioner of Crown Lands for the
Canterbury Land District to be the Chairman of the Arthur
Pass National Park Board hereinbefore referred to.

to be Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at Pipiriki,

to be Clerk of the Magistrates' Court at Cromwell for the
purposes of the Magistrates' Courts Act, 1928; Clerk of the
Warden's Courts, Receiver of Gold Revenue and Mining
Registrar at Cromwell, Clyde, Alexandra, Blacks, and Naseby,
for the District of Otago constituted under the Mining Act,
1926; and Clerk of the Licensing Committee for the District
of Central Otago, as from the 6th day of July, 1936.

to be an Inspector for the purposes of the Health Act, 1920,
and an officer for the purposes of the Sale of Food and Drugs
Act, 1908, as from the 6th day of July, 1936.

By-law of the Taihape Fire Board approved.
Department of Internal Affairs,
Wellington, 14th July, 1936.
PURSUANT to section 60 of the Fire Brigades Act, 1926,
I, William Edward Parry, being the Minister charged
for the time being with the administration of the Fire Brigades
Act, 1926, do hereby notify that approval has been given
to a by-law, dated 3rd July, 1936, made by the Taihape
Fire Board fixing the charge for services of members of the
brigade in connection with any fire within the Fire District
of Taihape, due to the breach or non-observance of any Act,
regulation, or by-law by the occupier of the land or buildings
on or in which such fire takes place.
