NOTICE is hereby given that a meeting of The Mining Research Co., Ltd., will be held on Monday, the 1st day of June, 1936, at which a resolution for voluntary winding up is to be proposed and that a meeting of the creditors of the said company will be held pursuant to section 234 of the Companies Act, 1933, at the registered office, 203 Commerce Buildings, Christchurch, on Monday, the 1st day of June, 1936, at 4 p.m., at which meeting a full statement of the position of the company’s affairs, together with a list of the creditors and the estimated amount of their claims, will be laid before the meeting, at which meeting the creditors in pursuance of section 236 of the said Act may (1) nominate a person to be the liquidator of the company, and in pursuance of section 236 of the said Act may (2) appoint a committee of inspection.

INVERCARGILL CITY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Invercargill City Council hereby resolves as follows :—

“ That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of principal, interest, and other charges on the Invercargill City Council Redemption Loan, 1936, of £3,400 authorized to be raised by the Invercargill City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of redeeming the outstanding liability (after allowing for accumulated sinking funds) in respect to the Harbour Loan of £5,000 and the Lindisfarne Loans of £1,000 and £600 respectively, the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of decimal nought six three of a penny (0·063d.) in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the City of Invercargill, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable on the first day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twelve years or until the loan is fully paid off.”

I hereby certify that the above is a true and correct copy of a resolution passed at a meeting of the Invercargill City Council held on Tuesday, 26th May, 1936.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.

In the matter of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, and the Public Works Act, 1928.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Timaru Borough Council proposes under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts to execute a certain public work—namely, the construction of an airport—and for the purpose of such public work the lands described in the schedule hereto are required to be taken: And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the lands so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Town Clerk to the said Council, situate in King George’s Place, Timaru, and is open to inspection, without fee, by all persons during ordinary office hours: All persons affected by the execution of the said public work, or by the taking of such lands, who have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said lands, must state their objections in writing and send the same within forty days from the first publication of this notice to the Town Clerk at the Timaru Borough Council Chambers, King George’s Place, Timaru.
