Notice of Intention to take Land in Block I, Benger Survey District, for the Purposes of a Quarry.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for the purposes of a quarry: And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Ettrick, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.

Plant declared to be a Noxious Weed in the Hunterville Town District.—(Notice No. Ag. 3379.)

THE following special order made by the Hunterville Town Board on the 20th day of April, 1936, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1928.

SPECIAL ORDER.

IN exercise of the powers conferred on it by the Noxious Weeds Act, 1928, the Hunterville Town Board, at a special meeting held on Thursday, 19th March, 1936, hereby resolves and declares by way of special order that variegated thistle (Silybum), being a plant mentioned in the Second Schedule of the said Act, as extended from time to time by the Governor-General in Council, is a noxious weed within the Hunterville Town District as from the 1st day of May, 1936.

Motor-vehicles Insurance (Third-party Risks) Act, 1928.

IN accordance with the provisions of subsection (6) of section 4 of the Motor-vehicles Insurance (Third-party Risks) Act, 1928, notice is hereby given that the undermentioned insurance companies have given me notice of revocation of their willingness to undertake insurance business in terms of the above-mentioned Act as from the first day of June, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-six:—

Incorporated Societies Act, 1908.—Declaration by the Assistant Registrar dissolving a Society.

I, HAROLD BEANLAND WALTON, Assistant Registrar of Incorporated Societies, do hereby declare that as it has been made to appear to me that the New Zealand Wrestling Association, Incorporated, is no longer carrying on its operations, the aforesaid society is hereby dissolved in pursuance of section 28 of the Incorporated Societies Act, 1908. Dated at Auckland, this 30th day of April, 1936.

SOUTH PACIFIC.—CHATHAM ISLANDS.
Pitt Island: Shoals reported.

(1) Position: Lat., 44° 21¼′ S.; long., 175° 58¾′ W. (approx.). Tupuangi in line with N.E. reef, 308°, south-eastern end of Rangatira Island in line with islands south of Murumuru, 267°·5.
Details: A shoal with a depth of about 8 fathoms exists in the above position.

(2) Position: Lat., 44° 23′·8 S.; long., 176° 11′·3 W. (approx.). Murumuru in line with The Castle, 315°, western extremity of Rangitira Island, 004°.
Details: A shoal, known locally as Peter Rua’s Reef, with a depth of 3 fathoms, exists in the above position.

NEW ZEALAND.—NORTH ISLAND.—HAWKE BAY.
Napier Port Approach: Alteration in Positions of Leading-lights and Light-buoy.

(1) Alteration in position of leading-lights:—
New positions:—
Rear light, 0·6 of a cable 178° from former charted position. Lat., 39° 26′ 58″ S.; long., 176° 52′ 07″ E.
Front light, 0·6 of a cable 178° from former charted position and 1·8 cables 102° from the rear light.
Abridged descriptions: Unaltered.
Details: On Chart No. 2513 the position of the leading-line shown is to be amended to a line parallel to the former leading-line and passing through the new positions of the leading-lights. The note is to be amended to “Lights in line 282°.”

(2) Alteration in position of light-buoy:—
New position:—
0·7 of a cable 193° from former charted position and 9·3 cables 014° from Ahuriri Bluff Trig. Lat., 39° 28′ S.; long., 176° 55′ E. (approx.).
Abridged description of light: Unaltered.
Details: All vessels making for the roadstead should pass southward of the light-buoy on the track for vessels of 22 ft. draught and over. This track is to be amended as follows: From a position 180°, 0·15 of a cable from the light-buoy in 082° and 307° directions to meet the leading-line in (1). The tracks formerly shown are to be expunged.

NEW ZEALAND.—NORTH ISLAND.
Poor Knights Island: Caution to be inserted.

Position: Lat., 35° 23′ S.; long., 174° 52′ E. (approx.).
Details: The following note is to be inserted in the above position:—

CAUTION.
“Poor Knights Is. and adjacent coast lie about 2 miles farther north than charted (1936).”

Remarks: Cape Brett and Motutara, at the entrance to Ngunguru River, lie approximately in a 307° direction ¼ of a mile and 1½ miles respectively from their charted positions. The coast between these places differs, both in latitude and longitude, from its charted position. Poor Knights Rocks and Sugar Loaf Rock also lie about 1½ miles northward of their charted positions.
