Transmitting and Receiving Officers for the Service of Notices by Telegraph.

IN pursuance of the powers conferred upon me by the Post and Telegraph Act, 1928 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), and by the regulations made on the 12th May, 1914, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 21st May, 1914, the following officers, at the addresses set against their names, are hereby appointed Transmitting and Receiving Officers for the purpose of dealing with all notices by telegraph sent under the said Act or regulations, and of signing such certificates in relation to the service of any such notices as are required or authorized to be signed or given under the said Act or the regulations aforesaid :—

Auditor under the Friendly Societies Act, 1909, licensed.

Plant declared to be a Noxious Weed in the Borough of Levin.—(Notice No. Ag. 3377.)

THE following special order made by the Levin County Council on the 21st day of April, 1936, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1928.

SPECIAL ORDER.

In exercise of the powers conferred on it by the Noxious Weeds Act, 1928, the Levin Borough Council hereby resolves and declares by way of special order that hemlock (being a plant mentioned in the Second Schedule to the said Act, as extended from time to time by the Governor-General in Council), is a noxious weed within the Borough of Levin.


Additional Sittings of Supreme Court appointed.

WE, three of the Judges of the Supreme Court of New Zealand, in pursuance of the powers vested in us by the Judicature Act, 1908, hereby appoint that sittings of the Supreme Court for the trial of criminal and civil cases and causes under the Divorce and Matrimonial Causes Act, 1928, shall be held at the Supreme Court at Westport, in the Westland Judicial District, commencing at 10.30 a.m. on the 4th day of June, 1936, and the 2nd day of September, 1936, respectively. Such sittings shall be in addition to the sittings appointed on the 15th day of October, 1935, to be held during the year 1936, and published in the New Zealand Gazette on the 9th day of January, 1936, at page 46.

Notice to make Returns of Income under the Land and Income Tax Act, 1923, and Amendments.

NOTICE is hereby given that in pursuance of the above Act and the regulations made thereunder, every person and company, whether a taxpayer or not, having derived income within the meaning of the said Act during the year ending 31st March, 1936, from any source or by any means which is made the subject of taxation under the said Act or any amendment thereof is hereby required to make and furnish to me, in the prescribed form, returns of such income on or before the 1st day of June, 1936.

In cases where the Commissioner has agreed to accept returns for twelve months ending at a date subsequent to the 31st March, such returns shall be made within two months after such subsequent date.

And, further, notice is hereby given that such returns shall in all cases be delivered at or forwarded to the office of the Commissioner of Taxes, in the Government Buildings at Wellington, C. 1.

(2) Forms of return may be obtained at any post-office.
SPECIAL NOTE.—Any person failing to furnish a return at the prescribed time is liable to a penalty up to £100.
