THE Acting Public Service Commissioner has made the following appointments in the Public Service:—

Sydney Seddon McGill,

to be Deputy Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at Herekino, as from the 14th day of April, 1936.

Harry Reginald Moore,

to be Registrar of Marriages and Registrar of Births and Deaths for the District of Albertland at Wellsford, as from the 18th day of April, 1936.

Joseph Moyle Treloar,

to be Registrar of Marriages and Registrar of Births and Deaths for the District of Rawene, and Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at Rawene, as from the 9th day of April, 1936.

Classification of Roads in Buller and Grey Counties.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on me by the Transport Department Act, 1929, and the Heavy Motor-vehicle Regulations, 1932, I, Robert Semple, Minister of Transport, do hereby approve of the Main Highways Board’s proposed alteration in the classification of the roads described in the Schedule hereto and situated in the Buller and Grey Counties.

SCHEDULE.

BULLER AND GREY COUNTIES.

ROADS classified in Class Three: Available for the use thereon of any heavy motor-vehicle (other than a multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle) which, with the load it is carrying, weighs not more than 6½ tons, or any multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle which, with the load it is carrying, weighs not more than 10 tons:—

Westport-Karamea Main Highway No. 105 (that portion within Buller County between the Mokihinui River Bridge and the Little Karamea River Bridge).

Westport-Greymouth via Coast Main Highway No. 166 (that portion within Buller and Grey Counties between Charleston and the northern boundary of Runanga Borough).

Notice of Intention to take Land in Block XVI, Mata Survey District, for the Use, Convenience, or Enjoyment of a Road.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for the use, convenience, or enjoyment of a road: And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Tokomaru Bay, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.
