KAIRANGA COUNTY COUNCIL.
SPECIAL ORDER MAKING AND LEVYING A CONSOLIDATED SPECIAL RATE.
WHEREAS the Kairanga County Council have under the provisions of the Local Authorities Interest Reduction and Loans Conversion Act, 1932-33, and with the precedent consent of the Governor-General given by Order in Council dated 23rd day of July, 1935, as appearing in the New Zealand Gazette No. 54 of the 25th day of July, 1935, converted and consolidated the whole of the convertible debt of the said Council as from the 1st day of October, 1935, in accordance with the provisions of the said Order in Council: And whereas the special loans described in the Schedule hereto, amounting in the aggregate to the sum of £10,141 4s., raised by the said Council from time to time are non-convertible loans under the provisions of the said Act: And whereas the Kairanga County Council has authority under the Local Authorities Interest Reduction and Loans Conversion Amendment Act, 1934, to strike a consolidated rate over the whole of the County of Kairanga for the purpose of repaying such loans and the interest and other charges thereon: Now, therefore, the Kairanga County Council, in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by section 7 of the Local Authorities Interest Reduction and Loans Conversion Amendment Act, 1934, and of all other powers and authorities enabling it in that behalf, doth hereby resolve by way of special order:—
“That in lieu of the special rates mentioned in the said schedule hereto, by which the said non-convertible loans of the Kairanga County Council are secured, the Kairanga County Council hereby makes and levies a consolidated special rate of four one-hundredths (4/100th) of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the whole of the County of Kairanga for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges, or, as the case may be, instalment of principal and interest thereon, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of the loans described in the said schedule, and shall be payable yearly on the first day of April in each and every year until the last maturity date of the said loans, being the first day of August, 1950, or until all such loans are fully paid off, and that this resolution take effect from the 1st day of April, 1936.”

I hereby certify that the foregoing special order was duly made at a special meeting of the Kairanga County Council held at the Council's Office, Rangitikei Street, Palmerston North, on Tuesday, the 10th day of March, 1936, and was duly confirmed at a special meeting of the said Council held in the said Council Office on Tuesday, the 7th day of April, 1936, and that due notice of the special order was published in the Manawatu Daily Times newspaper on the 14th, 21st, and 28th days of March, 1936, and the 4th day of April, 1936.
