Authorizing Erection of a Public Hall on Ataahua Domain,
Canterbury Land District.
GALWAY, Governor-General.
I n pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by subsection one (d) of section fifty-two of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby authorize the Ataahua Domain Board to erect a public hall on that portion of the Ataahua Domain under its control, described in the Schedule hereto.

CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.
RESERVE 3704, Block III, Ellesmere Survey District : Area, l acre, more or less.

Vesting the Control of a Scenic Reserve in the Everett Road Scenic Board.
GALWAY, Governor-General.
I N pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section thirteen of the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand doth hereby vest the control of the reserve described in the Schedule below (being land reserved under the said Act), for the period of five years from the date hereof (unless previously altered or revoked under the said Act) in the undermentioned persons, namely :— William Charles Deem, Robert Stuart, Frederick Bracegirdle, John Robson Gray Sutherland, The Commissioner of Crown Lands for the Taranaki Land District (ex officio), The Chairman of the Inglewood County Council (ex officio), and The Mayor of the Borough of Inglewood (ex officio),
who are hereby constituted for that purpose a special Board by the name of the Everett Road Scenic Reserve Board (herein referred to as “the Board”), in trust, for the preservation of scenery, and with the powers and subject to the conditions hereinafter contained, that is to say :—

The Board shall meet for the transaction of business at the office of Mr. W. C. Deem, Solicitor, Matai Street, Inglewood, on the first Wednesday in the months of December and June in each year, at eight o'clock p.m., or at such other time or place as may from time to time be fixed by the Board. The first meeting shall be held at eight o'clock p.m. on Wednesday, the fourth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-five.

The members of the Board shall at their first meeting, and thereafter at the annual meeting hereinafter mentioned, elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the discussion, and shall have an original as well as a casting vote. The Chairman shall hold office until the election of his successor.

Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman, provided that two days’ notice of such meeting is given to each member, specifying the business to be transacted at such special meeting ; and no other business than that so specified shall be transacted at such meeting.

Any four members of the Board shall form a quorum. Any meeting may be adjourned from time to time.

All questions shall be determined by the majority of votes of the members of the Board present at a meeting.

If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the time appointed for holding the same, the members present shall choose one of their number to be Chairman of such meeting.

(a) The Board may make such rules as it deems necessary—
(i) Governing trading within the reserve; and
(ii) Controlling or limiting the taking of collections within the reserve for any objects other than the improvement of the reserve.
(b) The Board may appropriate open portions of the reserve for parking-places for vehicles for the convenience of persons using the reserve, and fix such charges for the use of such parking-places as the Minister approves.

If, by resignation, death, incapacity, or otherwise, the seat of any member shall be or become vacant, or if any member absents himself, without reasonable cause, from three consecutive meetings of the Board, the Governor-General shall have power to appoint any other person to be a member of the Board in his stead.

The Board shall prepare and submit at an annual meeting to be held in the month of April in each year a report of the proceedings of the Board for the previous year ending on the thirty-first day of March, together with a statement of the receipts and expenditure of the Board for such year. A copy of every such report and statement, certified by the Chairman to be correct, shall be sent to the Minister in Charge of Scenery Preservation as soon as possible after each annual meeting.

The Board shall control the said reserve in accordance with the provisions of the said Act and of the regulations made thereunder.
SCHEDULE.
EVERETT ROAD SCENIC RESERVE.
All that area in the Taranaki Land District, containing by admeasurement 166 acres, being Sections 13, 18, and 19, Block XIII, Waitara Survey District, and bounded as follows :—
Section 13 (northern portion), containing by admeasurement 46 acres 3 roods, more or less. Bounded on the north by Section 182, Huirangi District, 2008 links ; on the east generally by River Bank Road ; on the south by road, 635·8 links; and on the west by Everett Road 22·2, 3014·7, and 757·2 links.
Section 13 (southern portion), containing by admeasurement 20 acres 1 rood, more or less. Bounded on the north by a road, 747 links ; on the east generally by River Bank Road ; and on the south and west by Everett Road, 189, 356·8, and 1201 links.
Sections 18 and 19, containing by admeasurement 99 acres, more or less. Bounded on the north and east generally by River Bank Road ; on the south generally by Bristol Road, 3520 links ; and on the west by Everett Road, 3798·2, 95·8, 853·5, and 2112·5 links.
Be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 39502, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged pink.

His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint Mahinui Karauti, Rawiri Hemopo, Tawhaki Turu, Wairangi te Tau, Maraku Gotty, Puhi Marumaru, Arthur Anderson, and John Wark (official member),
to be members of the Maori Council for the Taumarunui Maori District.

It is hereby notified that His Excellency the Governor-General has, in pursuance of the provisions of the Fisheries Act, 1908, and of the Official Appointments and Documents Act, 1919, appointed William Patrick Gilligan, of Hokitika, Police Sergeant, to be an Inspector of Sea-fishing for the purposes of Part I of the first-mentioned Act.
