IN LIQUIDATION.

NOTICE is hereby given that at a special general meeting of the above-named company duly convened and held on the 12th day of August, 1935, the following special resolution was duly passed:-

(1) That the company be wound up voluntarily.

(2) That Mr. STANLEY POUNTNEY WHITE, of Feilding, be and he is hereby appointed liquidator of the company.

APPLICATION FOR LICENSE FOR A WATER-RACE.

To the Warden of the Otago Mining District, at Riverton.

PURSUANT to the Mining Act, 1926, the undersigned British Developments, Limited, a company incorporated under the Companies Act, 1908, having its registered office at Timaru, and carrying on business there and elsewhere as a gold-mining company, hereby applies for a license for a water-race, as specified in the Schedule hereto, the course whereof has been duly marked out for the purpose.

Mark on pegs: 1L.

Precise time of marking out privilege applied for: 2 p.m., 10/5/35.

Date and number of miner's right: 7/6/34: No. 54567.

Address for service: Offices of Hunter and Mackenzie, Solicitors, Riverton.

Dated at Gore, this 27th day of June, 1935.

SCHEDULE.

Locality of the race, and of its starting and terminal points; also description of land traversed-e.g., unalienated Crown land, private land, or otherwise: Situate on Crown lands, Block 3, Longwood Survey District, commencing at a peg marked 1L at the junction of Waimeamea River and Deep Stream, thence in a southerly direction to a peg marked 1L on Section 23, Block 3, Longwood Survey District.

Length and intended course of race: Three miles in south-easterly direction.

Points of intake: Junction of Waimeamea River and Deep Stream.

Estimated time and cost of construction: Twelve months; £3,000.

Mean depth and breadth: 5 ft. by 3 ft.

Number of heads to be diverted: Sixty.

Purpose for which water is to be used: Gold-mining purposes.

Proposed term of license: Twenty-one years.

Time and place appointed for the hearing of the application and all objections thereto: Tuesday, 3rd September, 1935, at 10.30 a.m., at Warden's Court, Riverton.

Objections must be filed in the Registrar's office and notified to applicant at least three days before the time so appointed.

WAIPAWA COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by Part II of the Local Authorities Interest Reduction and Loans Conversion Act, 1932-33, and the Waipawa County Loans Conversion Order, 1935, the Waipawa County Council hereby resolves as follows:-

"That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the new securities authorized to be issued by the Waipawa County Council under the above-mentioned Act and Order in conversion of the existing securities issued in respect of the loans set out in the First Schedule to that Order, the said Waipawa County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of eighty-three two-hundredths of a penny (83/200th) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the County of Waipawa, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such securities and be payable annually on the 31st day of July in each and every year until the maturity date of the last of such securities, being the 31st day of July, 1967, or until such securities are fully paid off."

The above resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the Waipawa County Council held on the 12th day of August, 1935.

SUBSCRIPTIONS.-The subscription is at the rate of £4 per annum, including postage, PAYABLE IN ADVANCE. Single copies of the Gazette as follows:-

Ordinary Weekly Gazette: For the first 32 pages, 9d. increasing by 3d. for every subsequent 16 pages or part thereof; postage, ld.

Supplementary and Extraordinary Gazettes: For the first 8 pages, 6d.; over 8 pages and not exceeding 32 pages, 9d.; increasing by 3d. for every subsequent 16 pages or part thereof; postage, ld.

Advertisements are charged at the rate of 6d. per line for the first insertion, and 3d. per line for the second and any subsequent insertion.

Statements under the Mining Act are uniformly charged 23s.

All advertisements should be written on one side of the paper, and signatures, &c., should be written in a legible hand.

The number of insertions required must be written across the face of the advertisement.

The New Zealand Gazette is published on Thursday evening of each week, and notices for insertion must be received by the Government Printer before 12 o'clock of the day preceding publication.
