Appointment of Honorary Child Welfare Officers under the
Child Welfare Act, 1925.

IN pursuance of section 2 of the Child Welfare Act, 1925,
I, Sydney George Smith, Minister of Education, do
hereby appoint the following persons as Honorary Child
Welfare Officers for the purposes of the said Act for the
period ending 31st December, 1935:—

to be Registrar of Marriages and Registrar of Births and
Deaths for the District of Nightcaps, as from the 3rd day of
August, 1935.

to be Registrar of Marriages and Registrar of Births and
Deaths for the District of Bay of Islands, and Registrar of
Births and Deaths of Maoris at Russell, as from the 13th day
of July, 1935.

Charles Winter Farrer,

to be Deputy Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at
Bulls, as from the 5th day of August, 1935.

Bartholomew Geraghty,

to be Deputy Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at
Tuakau, as from the 6th day of August, 1935.

Albert Edward Churcher,

to be Deputy Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at
Taneatua, as from the 1st day of August, 1935.

Philip Cyril Heath,

to be Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at Poroporo,
as from the 12th day of August, 1935.

to be Deputy Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at
Waiuku, as from the 31st day of July, 1935.

to be Inspector of Factories for the purposes of the Factories
Act, 1921–22, as from the 2nd day of August, 1935.

to be Inspector of Factories for the purposes of the Factories
Act, 1921–22, as from the 2nd day of August, 1935.

Thomas Stephen Kotlowski,

to be Inspector of Factories for the purposes of the Factories
Act, 1921–22, as from the 2nd day of August, 1935.

Charles Leopold Landon Harney,

to be Assistant Commissioner of Stamp Duties, Assistant
Registrar of Companies, Registrar of Building Societies,
Registrar of Industrial and Provident Societies, Assistant
Registrar of Incorporated Societies at Blenheim, District
Land Registrar and Examiner of Titles for the District of
Marlborough in pursuance of section 4 of the Land Transfer
Act, 1915, and Registrar of Deeds for the District of Marl-
borough in pursuance of section 6 of the Deeds Registration
Act, 1908, as from the 5th day of August, 1935.

Charles Joffrey Llansillan McCree,

to be Assistant Land Registrar for the District of Canterbury
as provided by and subject to section 4 of the Land Transfer
Act, 1915, and Deputy Registrar of Deeds for the District of
Canterbury as provided by section 6 of the Deeds Registration
Act, 1908, as from the 5th day of August, 1935.

Sergeant Florence Culloty,

to be Bailiff of the Magistrates’ Court at Dargaville for the
purposes of the Magistrates’ Courts Act, 1928, as from the
25th day of July, 1935.

Constable Frank Nasoby Lemm,

to be Bailiff of the Magistrates’ Court at Waitara for the
purposes of the Magistrates’ Courts Act, 1928, as from the
1st day of August, 1935.

Sergeant James John Sparks,

to be Bailiff of the Magistrates’ Court at Te Kuiti for the
purposes of the Magistrates’ Courts Act, 1928, as from the
5th day of August, 1935.

Captain Edward Carlyon Vellenoweth,

to be Resident Agent of Mitiaro and a Commissioner of the
High Court of Mitiaro, as from the 12th day of August, 1935.

Borough Council, are published in accordance with the
provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

BOROUGH OF ASHBURTON.

PURSUANT to section 13 (1) of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act,
1926, notice is hereby given that at a poll of ratepayers of the
Hampstead Area of the borough on the proposal to borrow
the sum of £12,000 for the purpose of installing an underground
drainage system for that area of the borough, held on the
7th day of August, 1935, the following votes were cast:—

Against the proposal .. .. .. .. .. .. 42

I therefore declare the proposal to be carried.

Pursuant to section 13 (1) of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act,
1926, notice is hereby given that at a poll of ratepayers of the
Hampstead Area of the borough on the proposal to borrow
the sum of £4,500 for the purpose of making advances (where
necessary) to ratepayers in the Hampstead Area of the borough
to enable them to connect their premises to the drainage
system proposed to be installed, held on the 7th day of August,
1935, the following votes were cast:—

WAITAKI ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD.

I HEREBY give notice that at a poll of ratepayers of the Waitaki
Electric-power District held on 6th August, 1935, on a proposal
to raise a loan of £17,000 for the extension of reticulation of
lines, &c., in that area, the following votes were recorded:—

Votes.
For the proposal .. .. .. .. .. .. .. 673
Against the proposal .. .. .. .. .. .. 98

And as the number of votes in favour of the proposal exceeds
three-fifths of the total number of valid votes recorded,
I hereby declare the proposal carried.
