THE NEW ZEALAND INSTITUTE FOR THE BLIND RATING EXEMPTION ACT, 1935.
In the matter of a Private Bill intended to be brought into the General Assembly of New Zealand intituled “The New Zealand Institute for the Blind Rating Exemption Act, 1935.”
NOTICE is hereby given pursuant to the Standing Orders of the General Assembly of New Zealand relating to Private Bills that The New Zealand Institute for the Blind (hereinafter called “the Institute”) will, within fourteen days after the commencement of the session of the General Assembly of New Zealand to be held next after the date of this notice, present a petition to the General Assembly of New Zealand through the Honourable The Speaker and Members of the House of Representatives praying and applying for leave to bring in a Private Bill to be called “The New Zealand Institute for the Blind Rating Exemption Act, 1935.”
The objects of the Bill are—
- To exempt all lands and buildings for the time being vested in and actually used by the Institute for the purposes of any school, workroom, shop, gardens, recreation-grounds, residences, or residential quarters for blind persons and held otherwise than as an endowment situated in the City of Auckland from liability for payment of rates (not being rates charged or levied by the Auckland City Council in respect of water supplied by the Auckland City Council in respect of such said lands and buildings), as if the said lands and buildings had always been excluded from the definition of “rateable property” in the Rating Act, 1925.
- To authorize the Auckland City Council to remit all rates heretofore charged or levied against the Institute in respect of the above-mentioned lands and buildings (not being rates for or in respect of water supplied by the said Council in respect of the said lands and buildings).
- To obtain such modification of the Rating Act, 1925, as may be necessary to give effect to the objects of the Bill.
Copies of the said Bill will be deposited at the Private Bill Office, Parliament Buildings, Wellington, on or before the 13th day after the commencement of the session.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.
NOTICE is hereby given that the partnership heretofore subsisting between FRANCIS HENRY HUDSON and THOMAS MILNES, carrying on business as Leather-manufacturers at Sawyer’s Bay, has been dissolved as from the date hereof. All debts due to and owing by the said late firm will be received and paid respectively by the said Francis Henry Hudson who will continue to carry on the said business under the style or firm of F. H. Hudson and Co.

NORTHCOTE BOROUGH COUNCIL.
I, ROBERT MARTIN, Mayor of the Borough of Northcote, hereby certify that at a special meeting of the Northcote Borough Council held on the 12th June, 1935, a resolution (as hereunder set out) in accordance with the provisions of section 9 of the Local Authorities Interest Reduction and Loans Conversion Act, 1932–33, was passed; and that at a special meeting of the said Northcote Borough Council held on the 27th June, 1935, the minutes of the above resolution passed at the special meeting held on the 12th June, 1935, were confirmed.
Resolution.
“That pursuant to section 9 of the Local Authorities Interest Reduction and Loans Conversion Act, 1932–33, and any amendments thereto, and by the Northcote Borough Loan Conversion Orders, 1935 (Nos. 1 and 2), and of all other powers thereto enabling, the Northcote Borough Council hereby resolved to issue new securities in conversion of the existing securities to which the said Orders Nos. 1 and 2 apply, such new securities to be issued and conversion effected subject to and in accordance with the said Conversion Orders Nos. 1 and 2.”
